The Pro Loco Christmas market in the heart of the Monti Lepini
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Every year at the end of November, the village of Sgurgola opens its doors to the Christmas Bazar, a market organized by the Pro Loco that has quickly become one of the most anticipated Advent events in the Sacco Valley. For one full day, the historic center dresses up for the occasion: stalls, lights, the scent of mulled wine, and music turn the alleys and squares into a true Christmas village, welcoming families and visitors with free admission.
The heart of the event is the market, which brings together local artisans and producers from 10:00 AM. Visitors can browse handmade Christmas decorations, original gift ideas, artisanal creations, and traditional Ciociaria products. There is also a gourmet corner: throughout the day, freshly made fritters and hot mulled wine are served, while street food options are available until evening.
The Christmas Bazar is a family-friendly festival. In the 2025 edition, children participated in two creative workshops: making Christmas decorations from recycled materials in the morning, and baking Christmas cookies in the afternoon. A bouncy castle is available all day, turning the village into a large open-air playground.
The day concludes with music: in the late afternoon, around 5:00 PM, live musicians perform great Christmas classics, offering the audience a magical finale amidst the lights of the historic center. It is the most awaited moment of the festival, as the market slowly winds down and the square fills up to enjoy the holiday melodies.
The Christmas Bazar, which reached its fifth edition in 2025, is organized by the Sgurgola Pro Loco with the support of the local community. The town of Sgurgola, perched on the slopes of the Monti Lepini overlooking the Sacco Valley in the province of Frosinone, Southern Lazio, preserves a compact historic center that perfectly suits the market's atmosphere: an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of Ciociaria far from the main tourist circuits, amidst popular traditions, craftsmanship, and local hospitality.
The date for the 2026 edition has not yet been announced. The event is traditionally held on the last Sunday of November, and official confirmation from the Pro Loco is expected in the autumn. For updated information, you can contact the organizers directly.
