The day that opens summer in Porto Recanati, with stalls on the seafront and free concerts under the stars
The Fiera di Giugno e Festa della Musica is one of the most anticipated events in the summer calendar of Porto Recanati, a seaside town in the province of Macerata overlooking the Conero Riviera, in the Marche region. The event marks the official start of the summer season and coincides, on the same day, with a large trade fair and the celebration of the Festa della Musica, the European occasion dedicated to music that falls every year on June 21st.
From morning to evening, Lungomare Lepanto transforms into a long path of stalls. Along the avenue, a stone's throw from the sea, exhibitors and street vendors offer a wide selection of goods: local crafts, clothing, accessories, and food and wine specialties from the Marche region. The fair is open approximately from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with a continuous flow of residents, holidaymakers, and curious visitors taking advantage of the day for a stroll along the seafront, enjoying shopping and tasting.
At sunset, the heart of the event moves to the Natale Mondo Amphitheatre, where the Festa della Musica takes place. The protagonist of the evening is the Civic School of Music of Porto Recanati, which brings a series of free concerts to the stage, spanning different genres. It's an opportunity to listen to students and musical ensembles from the area in a suggestive setting, outdoors and under the stars, in full coherence with the spirit of the Festa della Musica, born to bring music into the streets and squares with free admission.
The formula that combines the daytime fair and the evening concerts makes the day suitable for all types of audiences: families with children, groups of friends, couples, and tourists on holiday on the Macerata coast. Admission is free to both the fair and the concerts, and its proximity to the beach allows you to alternate between the sea, shopping at the stalls, and live music.
Organized by the Municipality of Porto Recanati, the event is also an opportunity to discover the city: the Swabian Castle in the historic center, the characteristic fishing village, and the long beach stretching towards the Conero promontory. The Fiera di Giugno e Festa della Musica thus represents not only an entertainment event but also a calling card for the town at the start of the tourist season.
For 2026, the event confirms its tried-and-tested formula. On Sunday, June 21, coinciding with the European Festa della Musica, Lungomare Lepanto hosts the trade fair from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with exhibitors of crafts, clothing, and food and wine specialties from the region. At dusk, the party moves to the Natale Mondo Amphitheatre, where the Civic School of Music offers a series of free concerts of various musical genres. Free admission to all events.
