The festival of the sea and maritime culture of Civitanova Marche
Every year, at the beginning of summer, the port of Civitanova Marche comes alive with GustaPorto, the event that celebrates the sea in all its forms: fishing, seafood cuisine, the culture of the Adriatic coast, and the opportunities of the so-called Blue Economy. Promoted by the Municipality of Civitanova Marche, in the province of Macerata, the event is now a much-anticipated appointment that officially inaugurates the tourist season of the Riviera del Conero and the Marche coastline.
The heart of the festival is the municipal Fish Market, which for the occasion transforms into the city's agora: a space for discussion on innovation, sustainability, and the future of coastal communities. Around this beating heart, tastings of blue fish and Adriatic shellfish come to life, paired with local wines and beers, sailing trips open to the public organized with the city's sailing clubs, and entertainment along the port's jetties.
One of GustaPorto's recurring themes is the link between the coast and the hinterland: the sea of the Marche region "begins in the mountains," because the rivers that descend from the Sibillini Mountains reach the Adriatic. The event thus enhances the entire regional supply chain, from fish products to the gastronomic excellences of the interior, in a narrative that unites different landscapes and traditions.
GustaPorto is not just a single day: after the opening at the port, the festival expands to restaurants, accommodation facilities, businesses, and tourism operators, with initiatives such as the GustaPorto Week and the GustaPorto Shopping circuit. A stop on the Grand Tour delle Marche promoted by Tipicitร and Anci Marche, and with the patronage of the European Commission, the event is now one of the most recognizable showcases of the region's maritime culture.
The ninth edition of GustaPorto opens the summer of Civitanova Marche from June 20 to 28, 2026, with the theme "The Blue Way โ The Port of Ideas", dedicated to maritime culture, the Blue Economy, sustainability, and innovation. The event is promoted by the Municipality of Civitanova Marche, with the patronage of the European Commission, and is a stop on the Grand Tour delle Marche.
The port and the Fish Market once again become the beating heart of the event, while from June 21 to 28, the festival extends to the entire city through restaurants, accommodation facilities, and businesses.
The port and the Fish Market become the heart of the event, with a program that combines cultural exchange, sea, and flavors:
The detailed program, with times and participation methods, will be published progressively on the official website gustaporto.it.
Civitanova Marche is easily reachable by train (Civitanova Marche-Montegranaro station on the Adriatic line) and by car via the A14 motorway, Civitanova Marche exit. The port and Fish Market area is a few minutes from the center and the seafront.
