The Romantic Night in the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy is the national event promoted by the Association 'I Borghi più Belli d'Italia' (The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy) which, every year on the evening closest to the summer solstice, lights up over two hundred certified historic centres with lights, music, and love-themed suggestions. For 2026, the event is set for Saturday, June 20, and among the participating villages in the Marche region is Montelupone, a medieval gem in the Municipality of Montelupone, province of Macerata, in the Marche region.

The charm of a village made for love

Montelupone is a refined hilltop village a few kilometres from Macerata, awarded the Orange Flag by the Touring Club and listed among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. Its historic centre, enclosed within the medieval walls with its four access gates, holds corners of rare beauty: the 14th-century Palazzetto del Podestà with its civic tower and five-arched loggia, the Palazzo Comunale with the elegant neoclassical Teatro Nicola degli Angeli, and the church of San Francesco. It is precisely this backdrop of stone, silent alleys, and intimate squares that makes the village the ideal setting for an evening dedicated to love.
