A village festival in the heart of the Osimo hills

Every year, at the beginning of June, the small hamlet of San Biagio transforms into the headquarters of the Osimo summer. San Biagio in Festa is the festival that for decades has drawn residents of Osimo and neighboring towns to the parish square for four days of conviviality, music, and good food. It's not the most flashy festival in the Province of Ancona, but it's one of those authentic events where the value lies in the people: the volunteers at the stoves, the local music groups, the families sitting at outdoor tables.

What to expect

The heart of the festival is the typical Marche cuisine, prepared by the volunteers of APS Amici di San Biagio. Traditional local peasant dishes arrive at the tables: pappardelle with hare, gnocchi with duck, rabbit porchetta-style, arrosticini, and grilled meat, accompanied by the unmissable crescia osimana. There are also themed evenings, such as the one dedicated to Mexican cuisine with penne de fuego, chili, and beans.

Alongside the gastronomy, the program offers live music and dancing every evening: from folk rock to ballroom orchestras, from tribute bands to disco nights with DJs and vocalists. Among the most anticipated events are the Fantacorrida, a comical and boisterous race open to amateurs, and the liscio and revival evenings that bring multiple generations onto the dance floor together.

A tradition that continues

San Biagio in Festa is one of the longest-running festivals in Osimo: the 2025 edition was the 36th, a sign of rare continuity for a hamlet festival. Over the years, the festival has often been accompanied by sporting initiatives, such as the youth football tournament dedicated to the memory of local volunteers.

The event traditionally opens the busy calendar of Osimo festivals, one of the richest in the Marche region: in the following months, the city and its hamlets host the Sagra del Leone, the Sagra del Vincisgrassi, the Festa della Birra, and dozens of other events. For those visiting the Province of Ancona in early summer, San Biagio in Festa is the perfect opportunity to taste the most genuine Marche cuisine and experience the atmosphere of a true community celebration.

The festival is held in the parish square of the hamlet of San Biagio, on the outskirts of Osimo, conveniently located for car access and with ample outdoor space for tables, stage, and entertainment.
