The pasta festival in Campocavallo di Osimo
In the heart of the Marche summer, the hamlet of Campocavallo, on the outskirts of Osimo (in the province of Ancona), dedicates three evenings to the undisputed king of the Italian table: spaghetti. The Sagra dello Spaghetto is an eagerly awaited event in the Osimo sagre calendar, one of those village festivals where the community gathers around long tables, the stoves of volunteers, and music that accompanies the evenings until late.
The common thread is simple and irresistible: spaghetti, offered in traditional Marche recipes and various sauce variations. The dishes are prepared on the spot by the food stalls managed by the volunteers of the hamlet's committee, who have been running this popular event for years. Alongside the pasta, other local flavours and desserts are available for a complete, authentic dinner.
The Sagra dello Spaghetto is not just about food: every evening features live music and dancing, with orchestras and bands animating the dance floor set up in the park. It's a festive occasion for all ages, from families with children to fans of ballroom dancing and group dances, in a convivial atmosphere typical of Marche summers.
The event is held in the equipped park of Campocavallo, a hamlet of Osimo. In recent years, the festival has found its home here, while redevelopment work funded by the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) continues on the traditional Osimo Foro Boario (cattle market). Campocavallo is also known for its Sanctuary of the Blessed Sacrament, a pilgrimage site, and is one of the most vibrant centres in the municipality during the sagre season.
The Sagra dello Spaghetto is part of a busy summer schedule that the Municipality of Osimo offers every year between June and September: from the Sagra del Leone (Lion Festival) to the Sagra della Grigliata (Grill Festival), from the Sagra della Rana (Frog Festival) to the Sagra della Bruschetta (Bruschetta Festival). A journey that tells, dish by dish, the food and wine tradition of Osimo and its hamlets, in the heart of the Marche region.
The Sagra dello Spaghetto 2026 takes place in the equipped park of Campocavallo di Osimo (AN) from July 17 to 19. The dates are included in the official schedule of Osimo's sagre published by the Municipality. As tradition dictates, the three evenings offer spaghetti and Marche cuisine dishes prepared on the spot at the food stalls, accompanied by live music and dancing in the park. The detailed evening program, with orchestras and musical events, is usually released in the weeks preceding the festival through the committee's and the Municipality's channels.
The detailed evening program for the 2026 edition (orchestras, musical groups, and side events) will be announced in the weeks before the sagra. The usual structure includes, for each of the three evenings, the opening of the food stalls in the evening with spaghetti service and traditional dishes, followed by live music and dancing in the park.
