The summer evening market for local farmers and artisans in the heart of San Lorenzo di Sebato
The Farmers' and Artisans' Market (known in German as Bauern- und Handwerkermarkt) is one of the most delightful summer events in the village of San Lorenzo di Sebato / St. Lorenzen, located in the Puster Valley, in the province of Bolzano (South Tyrol). On summer evenings, the town center transforms into a lively meeting point where the focus is on high-quality local products and traditional South Tyrolean craftsmanship.
The market brings together more than 40 exhibitors presenting a wide variety of goods: from natural cosmetics and jewelry to decorations and refined woodwork. Gastronomy is also a highlight, featuring fresh vegetables, fruit juices, speck, alpine cheese, wine, and many other local specialties. All this takes place in a convivial atmosphere, perfect for a summer evening stroll with family or friends.
The most anticipated moment is the focus on traditional specialties: the local farmers of San Lorenzo prepare fresh, fragrant Tirtlan (fritters filled with spinach or sauerkraut) and Strauben (spiral-shaped sweet fritters) right before your eyes. Tasting them while wandering through the stalls is an essential part of the experience at this market, which serves as an authentic reflection of Puster Valley's farming culture.
Organized by Bruneck Kronplatz Tourismus, the market promotes the work of local producers and artisans, offering visitors the chance to discover and purchase genuine, zero-kilometer products. San Lorenzo di Sebato, at the foot of the Plan de Corones ski area, is easily accessible from the nearby towns of Brunico and the Puster Valley.
In 2026, the Farmers' and Artisans' Market of San Lorenzo di Sebato returns for two evenings: Saturday, July 18, and Saturday, August 22, 2026. On both dates, the town center hosts the market from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with free admission.
As per tradition, over 40 exhibitors will offer natural cosmetics, jewelry, decorations, woodwork, fresh vegetables, juices, speck, cheese, and wine. The local farmers of San Lorenzo will prepare typical Tirtlan and Strauben on-site, to be enjoyed while strolling through the stalls in the summer setting of the Puster Valley.
The market is held in the center of San Lorenzo di Sebato / St. Lorenzen (Postal Code 39030), in the Puster Valley, province of Bolzano.
The market evenings run from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Admission is free.
