The Herbstmarkt / Autumn Market is one of the most anticipated events of the season in Brunico (Bruneck), the main hub of the Puster Valley in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. For one weekend, the historic Piazza Municipio (Rathausplatz) turns into a lively open-air market where local art and craftsmanship take center stage.

Over 40 artisans in the square

The heart of the event lies in the over 40 talented artisans who display and sell their handmade creations. While wandering among the stalls, you can admire and purchase:

• Autumn decorations in the warm colors of the season;
• Handcrafted jewelry with original designs;
• Ceramics and handmade glassware;
• Wood carvings and sculptures, reflecting the region's strong artisanal tradition.

Gastronomy and family fun

The culinary aspect is not overlooked, with food trucks and local specialties accompanying your visit to the market. For children, there is a trampoline and a creative wood workshop, making the event suitable for the whole family. The intimate atmosphere of Brunico's historic center, with its arcaded streets at the foot of the castle, provides the ideal backdrop for a day of artisanal shopping and autumn strolls.

The Autumn Market is organized by Bruneck Kronplatz Tourismus and is part of the rich calendar of markets and events that bring Brunico to life throughout the year, from the May Market (Maienmarkt) to the famous Christmas Markets. Admission is free, and the event is an excellent opportunity to discover South Tyrolean craftsmanship and experience the authentic atmosphere of an alpine village in the Province of Bolzano.
