The weekly market featuring farmers and artisans from the Tures Valley
The Bauern- und Handwerkermarkt (Farmers' and Artisans' Market) in Campo Tures/Sand in Taufers is a weekly event that brings the flavours and crafts of the surrounding valleys into the town centre. It takes place in the Atrium of the Tubris Center, along Hugo-von-Taufers-Straße—a welcoming, covered space that allows the market to operate in any season, from spring through winter.
The guiding principle is zero-kilometre: farmers, alpine dairymen, and artisans from the Tures and Aurina Valleys sell their products in person, often sharing stories of how they were cultivated, raised, or crafted. It is a direct way to connect with the region, far removed from the logic of mass retail.
The stalls offer a wide range of genuine South Tyrolean specialities:
Surrounded by imposing mountains and pristine forests, the village of Campo Tures is an ideal stop for those seeking the most authentic side of South Tyrol. Many visitors combine a morning hike, perhaps towards the famous Riva Waterfalls, with an afternoon visit to the market, taking home a piece of the Bolzano province's tradition.
The market is organised by the Campo Tures/Sand in Taufers Tourist Association and represents one of the many initiatives in Trentino-Alto Adige that safeguard mountain agriculture and traditional crafts. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is the genuine, friendly one of a small village market.
In 2026, the Bauern- und Handwerkermarkt in Campo Tures/Sand in Taufers continues with its proven formula: every Thursday afternoon, from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, the Atrium of the Tubris Center welcomes local producers. The new season begins on July 16, 2026, and continues in the following months with the typical zero-kilometre stalls.
Expect fir honey, alpine cheese, South Tyrolean speck, rye bread, jams, and traditional spirits, alongside handicrafts from the Tures Valley. Admission is free.
