EurHop – Rome Beer Festival is Italy's premier event for quality craft beer. It takes place every October at the Salone delle Fontane in the EUR district of Rome (Metropolitan City of Rome, Lazio), a monumental space of approximately 2,000 square meters designed in the 1930s for the 1942 Universal Exhibition. Carrara marble columns and floors, twelve massive nine-meter-high windows, and the Gino Severini mural on the back wall provide a stunning backdrop for an event that has evolved into a professional trade show open to the public.

The format: Europe's longest pub

The heart of the event lies in two 45-meter-long bars that host hundreds of taps, recreating for three days the atmosphere of the longest pub in Europe. Surrounding them are the stands of Italian and international breweries, where brewers personally pour their own beers. It is a rare opportunity to speak directly with the producers, learn about their choices of malts and hops, and sample experimental brews, barrel-aged creations, and limited editions that are hard to find elsewhere.

Friday afternoon and Sunday are generally the quietest times to chat with the brewers, while Saturday night is the most crowded and festive period.
