A festival that flips the script on center and periphery

Le Ali della Città is a music festival held in Corviale, within the XI Municipality of Rome, at the Nicoletta Campanella Multipurpose Center and Refreshment Point on Via Marino Mazzacurati. Conceived and directed by musician and director Luigi Cinque, the festival acts as a manifesto: bringing top-tier programming to what the organizers call the "non-center" of the capital, challenging the distinction between center and margin while restoring a leading cultural role to the Roman suburbs.

Music beyond categories

The program weaves together jazz, contemporary music, world music, singer-songwriter tracks, rock, and Mediterranean ethnic elements. Over the years, the Corviale stage has hosted renowned musicians such as Antonello Salis, Roberto Ottaviano, Gabriele Coen, Dado Moroni, Ricky Gianco, Anais Drago, and numerous local artists, fostering a constant dialogue between established soloists and local talent. The festival's hallmark is cross-pollination: concerts, improvisations, and encounters that transcend genre boundaries.

An open-air film set

Le Ali della Città is more than just a concert season: the musical evenings also serve as the body and soundtrack for an imaginative Pasolinian film about the Corviale of 2413, directed by Luigi Cinque himself. Live music and cinematography merge, turning the "serpentone" and its garden into a true open-air film set.

Rooted in the community

The festival is produced by MRF 5 S.r.l. and Black Tarantella, with support from the Ministry of Culture and grants from Roma Capitale dedicated to live performance outside the city center. The third edition was supported in 2025 by the Roma Creativa 365 program. The stated goal is to anchor culture within the district, involving residents, associations, and young musicians from Corviale in a project that combines artistic quality with social commitment.
