About Su:ggestiva

Su:ggestiva is a touring festival of concerts and musical performances that transforms Rome's most extraordinary sites into unique stages, including archaeological areas, historic villas, churches, and mausoleums along the Appian Way Archaeological Park. Produced by ARTmosfera under the artistic direction of Scuderie MArteLive, the event blends classical music, electronica, singer-songwriter sets, and sound experimentation into a deeply emotional experience, held between October and November.

Pure music in extraordinary places

Su:ggestiva is one of Rome's most original musical events: a touring journey that brings live concerts and performances to places that are usually silent or closed to the public at night, including archaeological sites, imperial villas, mausoleums, and ancient paper mills. The guiding principle is captured in its subtitle, "pure music for extraordinary places": the encounter between sound and space creates a profound listening experience, where architecture and history become an integral part of the concert.

The heart: the Appian Way Archaeological Park

The festival's historic home is the Appian Way Archaeological Park (Parco Archeologico dell'Appia Antica) in Rome, Lazio. Here, concerts take place in settings of exceptional value such as the Nymphaeum of the Villa dei Quintili, the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella, the Church of San Nicola, and the spaces of the Ex Cartiera Latina, the park's headquarters. Walking along the Regina Viarum at sunset to reach a concert amidst the ruins of an imperial villa is part of the spectacle itself, alongside guided tours and workshops designed for all ages.

A research-driven program

Su:ggestiva offers a lineup that weaves together diverse genres: classical and contemporary music, electronica and ambient, singer-songwriter tracks, soundtracks, and sound experimentation. Over the years, the festival has hosted prominent Italian and international artists from the experimental music scene, alternating established names with emerging talent. Each evening is conceived as a dialogue between the musician and the host venue, with sets often specifically designed for the acoustics and atmosphere of the space.

Who organizes it

The event is a production by ARTmosfera under the artistic direction of Scuderie MArteLive, with a format created and directed by Giuseppe Casa in collaboration with Lune Magrini. Active since 2019, Su:ggestiva has established itself as a staple of the Roman autumn cultural calendar, supported by Roma Culture and realized under the patronage of the Appian Way Archaeological Park of the Ministry of Culture. For the 2026 edition, the project was selected as one of the major events funded by the Lazio Region.

Why attend

  • Listen to live music in archaeological and monumental sites otherwise inaccessible at night.
  • A high-quality lineup spanning classical, electronic, ambient, and singer-songwriter genres.
  • A touring experience that combines concerts, walks in nature, and heritage discovery.
  • Side activities such as guided tours and workshops for families and children.
