Coldiretti's zero-mile farmers' market in the EUR district of Rome
The Campagna Amica EUR Market is one of Rome's most popular agricultural markets, housed in an 800-square-meter indoor facility at 199 Viale dell'Oceano Pacifico, in the EUR district. Inaugurated by Coldiretti on March 24, 2023, in the presence of local authorities, it quickly became a vital hub for the daily shopping of a neighborhood with approximately 200,000 residents. It is part of the Fondazione Campagna Amica network, a project through which Coldiretti promotes Italian agriculture and the direct connection between farmers and consumers.
The market is guided by the zero-mile principle: all products sold are exclusively Italian, sourced from the countryside of Lazio and neighboring regions, and brought directly by farmers without intermediaries. Stalls offer seasonal fruit and vegetables, wines, extra virgin olive oils, cheeses, cured meats, legumes, cereals, pasta, preserves, honey, eggs, fresh meat, bread, and baked goods, as well as organic (Bio) and Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) specialties. Direct sales ensure fair prices while guaranteeing freshness, seasonality, and full traceability.
The EUR market is not just a place to shop, but a space for meeting and food education. Throughout the year, it hosts educational workshops for adults and children, guided tastings, and show cooking events with Campagna Amica's 'agrichefs' to rediscover authentic flavors and local recipes. These initiatives bring families closer to the agricultural world and teach younger generations about the value of seasonality and environmental respect.
The facility is indoors and easily accessible, featuring a large parking area and facilities for people with disabilities, making it a convenient, family-friendly market. Its location on one of the main arteries of the EUR district makes it a reference point not only for the neighborhood but for the entire southern area of the capital.
Situated in the Municipality of Rome, in the EUR district of the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital (Lazio Region), the market is one of many in the Campagna Amica network across the region. Alongside the historic markets at Circo Massimo, Tiburtino, and Pineta Sacchetti, it helps spread a culture of conscious, sustainable shopping in the capital while supporting local farmers.
In 2026, the market continues its weekly activity in the EUR district, confirming its opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM (with reduced hours on Saturdays only during the summer month of July). The stalls follow the rhythm of the seasons: fresh vegetables and fruit, cheeses, cured meats, extra virgin olive oils, wines, honey, preserves, and organic and DOP products from the Lazio region.
Alongside shopping, the Campagna Amica Foundation enlivens the year with educational workshops for adults and children, guided tastings, and show cooking events with 'agrichefs' to rediscover authentic flavors and traditional farming recipes.
The market is open year-round, every Friday and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM (in July, opening is generally limited to Saturdays only).
