About Estate Vichese

Estate Vichese is the premier summer festival in Vico del Gargano, one of Italy's most beautiful villages in the province of Foggia. The 2026 edition, marking 50 years of the Estate Teatrale Vichese and the 31st Gargano Festival, features 79 events from June 14 to August 28, spread across the historic centre, the San Menaio and Calenella coastlines, and the Foresta Umbra: major concerts, theatre, Gargano tarantella, folk traditions, sports, and family activities.

A three-month summer on the Gargano

Estate Vichese is the most anticipated summer event in Vico del Gargano, a medieval village in the province of Foggia, officially listed among The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy and overlooking the Gargano National Park. Established as the Estate Teatrale Vichese in 1976 and joined over the years by the Gargano Festival, the programme transforms the town into a vast, open-air stage every year, stretching from the heart of the historic centre to the seaside resorts of San Menaio and Calenella, and into the woods of the Foresta Umbra.

The 2026 edition: a triple milestone

The 2026 calendar is a special edition: it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Estate Teatrale Vichese and the 31st edition of the Gargano Festival. The programme, presented by the municipal administration, includes 79 main events running from June 14 to August 28, designed to weave together culture, music, theatre, sports, children's activities, markets, and religious celebrations that have always been the heartbeat of the Vico summer.

Major concerts

Headlining the musical programme are 99 Posse, performing on July 23 in Piazza San Domenico; Niccolò Fabi, expected on August 3 in the evocative setting of the Capuchin Convent; and Andrea Sannino, taking the stage in Piazza Monte Tabor on August 22. Also highly anticipated is Sergio Rubini, who brings Mio, sempre mio Andrea to San Menaio on August 9, a tribute to Andrea Pazienza accompanied by the Daunia Orchestra.

Traditions, sea, and community

Alongside the major events, the calendar gives ample space to Gargano identity. On the coast, the San Menaio Summer Festival (July 10-12) brings the station square to life with music, shows, and gastronomy. August features the first Night of the Gargano Tarantella, dedicated to the promontory's folk dances, and the White Night, now in its twentieth year, with shops open, music, and entertainment until late at night. Traditional religious festivals, such as Ferragosto and the feast of San Rocco, are also highlights.

A territory to experience

Estate Vichese is much more than a series of shows: it is an invitation to discover the Municipality of Vico del Gargano and the entire Gargano region of Puglia, from the alleys of the Trecalli district to the ancient olive groves, the beaches of San Menaio and Calenella, and the trails of the Foresta Umbra. A summer that unites major national artists with local heritage, offering residents and tourists a new reason every evening to experience the village and its sea.
