Classical music festival at the "Pietro Giannone" Auditorium in Ischitella
Enarmonia – The Sound of Peace is a concert series bringing world-class classical music to Ischitella in 2026, a charming village in the Gargano area of the Puglia region. Four free performances, all hosted at the "Pietro Giannone" Auditorium, offer a journey through chamber repertoire featuring both emerging youth ensembles and seasoned performers. The festival serves as the Ischitella leg of the inaugural season of the "Melos Aureum" Philharmonic Academy, under the patronage of the Municipality of Ischitella.
The "Enarmonia" season is part of a broader "Gargano City" vision that unites five municipalities — Vico del Gargano, Ischitella, Cagnano Varano, Peschici, and Rodi Garganico — around a shared cultural project. Conceived by the newly established "Melos Aureum" Philharmonic Academy, led by artistic director and cellist Francesco Mastromatteo, the initiative uses music as a tool for dialogue and human connection between artists and the audience. The title "The Sound of Peace" echoes values of harmony and themes tied to the Republic's anniversary, fostering a dialogue between local young talents and established professionals.
All concerts take place at the "Pietro Giannone" Auditorium, starting at 8:00 PM with free admission:
A distinctive feature of the festival is the promotion of young musicians from the Gargano and Puglia regions, many of whom are trained or active within the Foggia Conservatory area. They share the stage with experienced masters and instrumentalists, fostering the intergenerational dialogue that lies at the heart of the Academy's mission. The project is realized with the support of the Municipality of Ischitella and the collaboration of the "Monti Uniti" Foundation of Foggia and various local associations, including "Pervinca – Comunità Laudato Si' Gargano Nord", the "Luigi Russo" Association, and APS Old Iron.
With free admission and a program ranging from woodwinds and strings to chamber formations, Enarmonia offers residents and visitors the chance to enjoy high-quality music in an intimate and welcoming setting. For those visiting the Gargano between spring and summer, the concerts at the "Pietro Giannone" Auditorium are an extra reason to discover Ischitella and its hinterland.
