Dance, music, and poetry at the foot of the ancient Roman monument in Cinzano
Emozioni al Turriglio is an evening of live performance held in the Cinzano hamlet of Santa Vittoria d'Alba, a small town in the Roero region of Piedmont. The setting is truly unique: the event comes to life at the foot of the Turriglio, a circular-based Roman monument that some scholars date to the 1st century BC, and which tradition links to the victory of Consul Gaius Marius over the Cimbri and Teutons (101 BC). For one night, this testament to the ancient Romanization of the lands between Alba and Pollenzo becomes a natural open-air stage.
The artistic program weaves together three different languages. Dance, both classical and contemporary, is performed by the young talents of the Il Sole a Mezzanotte group, presenting choreography inspired by memory and the dialogue between past and present. Music is the beating heart of the evening, with a tribute concert performed by Fabrizio Piumatti and his band, dedicated to the legends of Italian songwriting. Completing the picture are interludes of poetry and reflection, crafted around the theme of hope.
The event is promoted by the Anforianus ODV association, in collaboration with local Roero organizations and supported by institutions and foundations dedicated to cultural preservation. More than just a festival, Emozioni al Turriglio is a way to give back to the community by celebrating a landmark site and telling its story through the arts.
In a Piedmont often associated with large food and wine festivals, Emozioni al Turriglio offers something different: an intimate, open-air experience where art dialogues with a thousand-year-old monument. It is the perfect opportunity to discover a lesser-known corner of the Roero and enjoy a summer evening suspended between history and performance.
The 2026 edition opened at 8:30 PM with a performance curated by Anforianus ODV, divided into two dance segments: Aeterna Passi and Musica Senza Tempo, featuring the Il Sole a Mezzanotte group. Following this, around 9:30 PM, the tribute concert by Fabrizio Piumatti and his band took place, featuring a journey through Italian songwriting with tracks by Lucio Dalla and Lucio Battisti. The evening, accompanied by poetry interludes on the theme of hope, was held with free admission and voluntary donations.
Location: Turriglio area, Cinzano hamlet, Santa Vittoria d'Alba (CN).
Santa Vittoria d'Alba is located in the Roero region, in the province of Cuneo, just a few kilometers from Bra and Alba. The Cinzano hamlet is accessible by car from the main local roads; pedestrian access to the Turriglio area is via Via dei Roeri.
The evening typically begins at 8:30 PM. Admission is free, with voluntary donations accepted to support the organizing association's activities.
As this is an open-air event in an archaeological area, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for summer evenings in the hills, which can be cool.
