Summer nights in Nova Ponente

The Eggentaler Sommernächte (Eggental Summer Nights) are a series of summer evenings that bring the center of Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen, a mountain village in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, South Tyrol, to life. Every Thursday in July and August, the village square transforms into an open-air meeting place where local restaurateurs, associations, and volunteers offer traditional South Tyrolean cuisine accompanied by local wines and live music.

The heart of these evenings is the food. Various local inns and taverns—from Gasthof Rössl to Living & Bistro Feldhof, Ristorante Adler, and Flex Pub—take turns offering regional staples: Schlutzkrapfen (spinach ravioli), dumplings, strauben, mountain-style desserts, and other delicacies, paired with wine and beer tastings. Some evenings are specifically dedicated to wine or craft beer tastings, with pairings curated by local experts.

Music and tradition

Music is a constant companion: concerts by the Deutschnofen brass band, performances by folk groups featuring Schuhplattler dances, and live bands across various genres. Past editions have featured groups such as Männer der Berge, Vollbluet, Nolipstik, and the Bozen Brass ensemble. Special events include the Bozen Brass meets Kesselmoos concert under the stars at the picturesque Kesselmooshof, and the Marktzauber market festival.

A community event in the heart of the Eggental Valley

The Sommernächte are more than just a concert series; they are an expression of Deutschnofen's community spirit. Organized by local associations—from the volunteer fire department (Freiwillige Feuerwehr) to folk groups and the local band—with coordination by Eggental Tourismus, the evenings take place in a stunning natural setting, with the Dolomite peaks of the Latemar and Catinaccio/Rosengarten providing a breathtaking backdrop in one of South Tyrol's most evocative valleys.
