Ritten Concerts (Konzerte am Ritten)

A series of events across the villages of the Sonnenplateau

The Ritten Concerts (in German Konzerte am Ritten) are the summer concert series featuring the brass bands of the Ritten/Renon municipality, located on the sunny plateau overlooking the city of Bolzano in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. From July through early autumn, the six local Musikkapellen—the bands of Klobenstein/Lengmoos, Oberbozen, Wangen, Oberinn, Unterinn, and Lengstein—take turns performing in the squares, festival grounds, and open-air spaces of their respective villages.

The Musikkapellen tradition

On the Ritten, six brass bands enrich the cultural life of the villages: they accompany religious and civil celebrations, create a festive atmosphere, preserve traditions, and keep the communities united. These summer concerts are the moment when this heritage leaves the rehearsal rooms to reach the public outdoors in a village festival atmosphere. The repertoire ranges from marches and polkas of the Tyrolean band tradition to more modern pieces and soundtracks, making for evenings perfect for residents, hikers, and visitors to the plateau.

A musical itinerary through the villages

The festival does not have a single stage: each band hosts its own concert in the heart of its village. This makes the event a great way to discover the various locations of the Ritten, from the panoramic squares of Oberbozen and Oberinn to the historic Lengmoos Commandery (Kommende Lengmoos). In 2026, the Oberbozen Brass Band also celebrates its centenary (100 years), with additional concerts in September and October.
