When the hills of the Asti Monferrato are painted with the colors of the new season, the village of Mongardino, a small municipality in the province of Asti, Piedmont, prepares to welcome summer with its Early Summer Festival. Two simple and genuine evenings dedicated to good food, conviviality, and fun, drawing residents and visitors from neighboring towns to toast together to the arrival of the most anticipated season.

The Mini Food Festivals: a synergy between Pro Loco

The heart of the event is the Mini Food Festival concept, born from a virtuous local collaboration between the Pro Loco of Mongardino, the Pro Loco of Montaldo Scarampi, and the Circolo dei Carretti. Each group brings its own specialties to the table, creating a rich and varied gastronomic proposal that encapsulates the best of Piedmontese country cuisine in just a few square meters.

The flavors of Piedmontese tradition

The table is the true protagonist. Among the dishes available at the various stalls:

• Traditional appetizers: knife-beaten raw beef, Russian salad, peppers with bagna caòda, and vitello tonnato;
• First and second courses: Piedmontese agnolotti, porchetta with French fries, and fried anchovies;
• Traditional desserts: bunet and Antico Mon, desserts linked to the village's memory;
• The Pizza Court: oven-baked pizza with quality ingredients, including the curious bagna caòda pizza, with takeaway service available by reservation.
