LIBRIamoci nel borgo is the cultural festival that brings literature every year to the streets and courtyards of Cella Monte, a small town in the Province of Alessandria nestled in the hills of the Casale Monferrato. Organized by the Municipality of Cella Monte and its Civic Library, the festival hosts a series of author meetings throughout the warmer months, set in some of the most charming locations in the village.

Cella Monte is part of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy circuit and is famous for its infernot, the small underground cellars hand-carved into the Pietra da Cantoni, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site within the "Vineyard Landscape of Piedmont: Langhe-Roero and Monferrato". The Ecomuseo della Pietra da Cantoni is one of the recurring venues for the meetings, along with the Civic Library courtyard, Palazzo Radicati, and the Coppi hamlet.

The formula that has made the festival so beloved is simple and successful: each presentation pairs the author's voice with a discussion partner (journalists, publishers, local scholars) and concludes with a tasting of wines produced by Monferrato farms. The fifth edition of LIBRIamoci nel borgo unfolds over five events between May and October 2026, with the usual summer break in August. The festival confirms its winning formula: book presentations featuring dialogues between authors and guests, followed by a tasting of wines from Monferrato farms. Venues range from the Civic Library courtyard to the Ecomuseo della Pietra da Cantoni, Palazzo Radicati, and the Coppi hamlet, with the collaboration of the Pro Loco of Cella Monte. Admission is free while seats last.

How to get there
Cella Monte is located in the Casale Monferrato area, in the Province of Alessandria, a few kilometers from Casale Monferrato. By car, it can be reached from the A26 motorway (Casale Monferrato Sud exit) or the A21. The reference train station is Casale Monferrato, from which you can continue by car or local transport.
