The Sut la Cupola Festival is a cultural event that transforms Camagna Monferrato, a small town in the Province of Alessandria, into a vibrant, open-air stage every year. Born in 2020 from an idea by the then-mayor Claudio Scagliotti and Camagna-born dancer Elisa Cipriani—currently active with the Arena di Verona Foundation—the festival has grown into one of the most anticipated events in the cultural calendar of the Casale Monferrato area, a land of vine-covered hills recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The Sant'Eusebio dome, the soul of the festival
The name of the event, in the Piedmontese dialect, means "under the dome" and pays homage to the Monumental Church of Sant'Eusebio, a masterpiece by architect Crescentino Caselli, a student of Alessandro Antonelli. Its dome rises above the hills and hosts the most evocative concerts of the festival, while the village squares, from Piazza Sant'Eusebio to Piazza Lenti, host open-air performances. The site is now also a FAI "Luogo del Cuore" (Place of the Heart), a testament to the strong bond between the festival and heritage conservation.
A program that interweaves the arts
The hallmark of the festival is its multidisciplinarity: past editions have featured classical and singer-songwriter concerts, theater and dance performances, art exhibitions, architecture-inspired fashion shows, moments dedicated to local gastronomy, and nature walks through the hills. The artistic direction is entrusted to Elisa Cipriani, who balances high-brow cultural offerings with accessibility for the general public.
The seventh edition (2026)
The 2026 edition, the seventh, is entirely organized by the Pro Loco of Camagna Monferrato. It opened on Saturday, March 21, at the Church of Sant'Eusebio with a world-premiere theatrical and musical performance, followed by four concerts scheduled between September and October. The festival confirms its collaboration with local entities and the support of the Piedmont Region.
Camagna and the Monferrato
Visiting the Sut la Cupola Festival is also an opportunity to discover Camagna Monferrato and the surrounding landscape: villages, wineries, and hills that tell the story of Piedmont's winemaking tradition. In the evening, after the shows, the Pro Loco offers dinners featuring Monferrato culinary specialties, completing an experience that blends culture, landscape, and conviviality.

The seventh edition of the festival kicked off on March 21, 2026, with the inaugural performance "Rinascere dall'alto nella vita adulta – l'incontro di Nicodemo con Gesù", a world premiere presented in the Monumental Church of Sant'Eusebio. The festival continues in the second half of the year with four concerts scheduled between September and October in the town of Camagna Monferrato, in the heart of the Piedmontese Monferrato.
The organization is handled by the Pro Loco of Camagna Monferrato, with artistic direction by Elisa Cipriani and the support of the Piedmont Region.

Getting there
Camagna Monferrato is located in the Province of Alessandria, in the Casale Monferrato area. By car: take the A26 motorway, exit at Casale Monferrato Sud, then follow provincial roads toward Camagna. The most convenient train station is Casale Monferrato, from where you can continue by car.
Event venues
