The music festival that welcomes summer in the heart of Roero, in Vezza d'Alba
Early Summer Dream is the music festival that, every June, symbolically marks the start of summer in Vezza d'Alba, a delightful town in the Roero area of Cuneo province, located in the heart of the UNESCO-listed Piedmont wine region. The event is curated by the Crome in Movimento APS Association together with the Vezza d'Alba municipal administration, offering two evenings of great live music with free admission.
The program features two concerts hosted in distinct, highly evocative locations. The first evening takes place in the Piazzetta del Belvedere, in the historic town center, overlooking the rolling hills of Roero. The second evening moves up to the Madonna dei Boschi Sanctuary, a secluded and peaceful setting nestled in the greenery, accessible via a dedicated shuttle service.
The performances range from singer-songwriter repertoires to jazz sounds and pieces that blend music with social causes: one of the evenings is specifically designed as a charity concert, with fundraising to support research into leukemia and blood cancers.
Beyond the quality of the artists involved, the festival stands out for its community spirit: free admission, the warm welcome of the village, and the focus on solidarity make it a beloved event for both Vezza d'Alba residents and visitors to the Roero area. The choice of scenic locations and an evening start time, around 9:15 PM, provides a delightful experience during the early summer nights.
Vezza d'Alba is an ideal destination for those wishing to combine music with the discovery of the Langhe and Roero regions: vineyards, wineries, woodland trails, and excellent gastronomy provide a natural backdrop to the festival. Early Summer Dream is much more than just a series of concerts: it is an invitation to experience the territory at a particularly evocative time of year.
The 2026 edition of Early Summer Dream took place in Vezza d'Alba on June 11 and 12, 2026, with concerts starting at 9:15 PM and free admission, organized by the Crome in Movimento APS Association and the Municipality.
Thursday, June 11, in the Piazzetta del Belvedere in the historic center, the group Mistral performed the show Mistral for AIL, a charity concert that combined music with fundraising for the Italian Association against Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Myeloma. On stage were Bruno Penna (vocals and guitar), Gianni Signetti (guitars), Stefano Cornaglia (piano), Max Molino (bass), and Mauro Valfrรจ (drums), with the participation of radio host Fabio Gallina.
Friday, June 12, at the Madonna dei Boschi Sanctuary, it was the turn of the Francesco Bertone Footprints 5et with Barco de Papel: Nitza Rizo on vocals, Alberto Varaldo on chromatic harmonica, Fabio Gorlier on piano, Paolo Franciscone on drums, and Francesco Bertone on electric bass. For this evening, a mandatory shuttle service was provided, departing at 8:30 PM from Piazzale Careglio.
Vezza d'Alba is located in the Roero area, in the province of Cuneo. By car, it is easily reached from Alba (about 10 km) and Bra; the main motorway is the A33 Asti-Cuneo. The nearest train station with good connections is in Alba.
The concerts are held in the Piazzetta del Belvedere, in the historic center, and at the Madonna dei Boschi Sanctuary. For the evening at the Sanctuary, a dedicated shuttle service is provided, departing from Piazzale Careglio.
Free admission; donations are appreciated for the charity concert. Information and reservations at the number (also WhatsApp) +39 339 8550332. In case of bad weather, the events will be held at the Il Cabanun Event Hall.
