Jazz on the slopes and in the theaters of the Fiemme, Fassa, and Cembra Valleys, featuring the Predazzo stop
Dolomiti Ski Jazz is one of the most original music festivals in the Alps. Established in 1997, it transforms the Fiemme, Fassa, and Cembra Valleys in Trentino into a vast, open-air stage every March, where jazz meets the mountains and skiing. Organized by Trentino Jazz in collaboration with local tourism boards, the festival features morning concerts on the slopes, daytime performances in mountain huts, and evening shows in village theaters, creating a formula that is truly one of a kind in Italy.
Among the participating towns is Predazzo, located in Val di Fiemme, in the Province of Trento. The festival stops here every year with a double event that has become a classic: in the late afternoon, a street parade winds through the historic center, filling the streets and the main square with the lively sounds of a dixie band; in the evening, the Predazzo Municipal Theater hosts a major concert, with Italian and international artists performing jazz, funk, swing, and blues.
Dolomiti Ski Jazz is more than just music; it is an experience that weaves jazz culture with Alpine hospitality and local flavors. Alongside the concerts, there are tastings of traditional Trentino products, from PDO cheeses and Val di Cembra wines to craft beers, all set against the breathtaking landscape of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites.
Attending Dolomiti Ski Jazz in Predazzo means experiencing the Trentino mountains in a whole new way: skiing and walking the slopes by day, and enjoying jazz in theaters and squares by night. It is an event that combines winter sports, high-quality music, and local tradition, drawing enthusiasts and tourists from all over Italy and abroad to the heart of the Dolomites.
For its 30th edition, Dolomiti Ski Jazz stopped in Predazzo on Friday, March 13, 2026, as part of the overall festival (March 6-15) across the Fiemme, Fassa, and Cembra Valleys.
At 5:30 PM, in Piazza SS. Filippo e Giacomo, the Tiger Dixie Band—six musicians playing trumpet, saxophones, trombone, banjo, and percussion—brought the atmosphere of New Orleans and Chicago style, Charleston, and Ragtime to the village streets with a lively street parade.
In the evening, at 9:00 PM, the Predazzo Municipal Theater hosted a concert by the young Polish bassist Kinga Głyk, a star of jazz, funk, and blues, accompanied by her energetic band.
Predazzo is located in Val di Fiemme, in the Province of Trento. By car, it can be reached via the A22 Brenner motorway (Egna/Ora or Trento exits), continuing toward Val di Fiemme. By train, the reference stations are Trento and Bolzano, which are connected to Predazzo by Trentino Trasporti buses.
Most Dolomiti Ski Jazz events, including the street parades, are free of charge. Evening concerts in theaters may require a ticket, which can be purchased through official channels (VivaTicket) and local tourism offices.
Full program and updates are available on visitfiemme.it and the Trentino Jazz channels.
