Te piaz d'estate: the culture of Val di Fassa takes to the square

Te piaz d'estate is a series of evening gatherings that places culture at the heart of summer in Pozza di Fassa, a village in the municipality of San Giovanni di Fassa-Sèn Jan, in Val di Fassa, the heart of the Trentino Dolomites. Coordinated by journalist Virna Pierobon, the festival transforms the square in front of the Tourist Office into a meeting place where the public gathers to listen, watch, and reflect.

Eleven evenings, eleven perspectives on the mountains

From June 27th to September 12th, the festival offers eleven evenings, each dedicated to a different facet of the culture of this Ladin valley. The meetings begin at 9:00 PM and cover themes ranging from mountaineering to art, sports to sustainable architecture, history to literature, and tourism to the environment. The stories take shape through words, images, music, and performances, in an open dialogue between speakers and the audience.

Guests and themes

• Book presentations and meetings with authors, such as the evening dedicated to Il monito della ninfea. Vaia, la montagna, il limite with author Diego Cason, which addresses the Vaia storm and the relationship between man and the mountains.
• Mountaineering evenings, featuring tales of great Himalayan ascents, such as the climb of Ama Dablam narrated by mountaineer Fabrizio Silvetti.
• Meetings on local history and Ladin culture, to learn about the roots and traditions of the Fassa community.

An open-air and free event

The meetings take place outdoors, in the central square of Pozza di Fassa, and are free of charge. In case of bad weather, the evening will be moved to the Town Hall Council Chamber. The festival is organized by the Comitato Manifestazioni Enjoy Pozza and represents an opportunity for residents and guests to experience mountain culture in an informal and convivial setting.

Val di Fassa: mountains, Ladin culture, and the Dolomites

The Val di Fassa, in Trentino-Alto Adige, is one of the most famous Dolomite valleys, nestled between the Sella Group, the Marmolada, the Catinaccio, and the Sassolungo. Here, the Ladin community preserves a centuries-old language and culture, of which Te piaz d'estate is a spokesperson, combining the discovery of the territory with the pleasure of an evening spent in good company under the Dolomite sky.
