The Cavalese stage of the national chamber music festival held in Italy's historic residences
Musica con Vista is the major summer classical chamber music festival that travels across Italy from north to south every year between June and September, hosting concerts in the country's most evocative settings: gardens, cloisters, courtyards, and the halls of historic villas and palaces. Promoted by the Comitato AMUR in collaboration with the international network Le Dimore del Quartetto, the festival combines the promotion of Italian architectural heritage with the discovery of young European chamber ensembles, particularly string quartets selected by the Le Dimore del Quartetto circuit.
As part of the festival calendar, the Municipality of Cavalese, in the heart of the Val di Fiemme, hosts one of the Trentino stages of the tour. The chosen venue is the Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme, on Via Scario, one of the most significant historic buildings in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. Once the residence of the Bishops of Trento and later the seat of the autonomous Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme institution, the palace features sgraffito-decorated facades, the Salone Clesiano, and a remarkable cycle of paintings.
The Musica con Vista format intertwines music and heritage: the concert is preceded by a guided tour of the palace, reserved for event attendees, allowing guests to experience the monument before the performance. The repertoire ranges from great 19th and 20th-century string quartets, with a focus on Italian and European composers, performed by emerging young ensembles from the international chamber music scene.
The festival, established in 2020, has become one of the most original widespread musical projects in Italy, capable of linking cities and villages from Trento to Palermo into a single itinerary. In Cavalese, the event also serves as an invitation to discover the Val di Fiemme and its historical and landscape heritage, set against an alpine backdrop that dialogues with great music.
On Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 5:30 PM, the Salone Clesiano of the Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme in Cavalese will host a concert by the Quartetto CARI as part of the 7th edition of Musica con Vista. The ensemble consists of Clara Heise (violin), Robert Einenkel (violin), Irene Juan Garrido (viola), and Alessandro Sacchetti Enrich (cello).
The program features three masterpieces of the chamber repertoire: String Quartet No. 2 in A minor, Op. 13 by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, String Quartet No. 1 «Rispetti e strambotti» by Gian Francesco Malipiero, and the Italian Serenade for string quartet by Hugo Wolf.
A guided tour of the palace is scheduled for 4:00 PM, available at a reduced rate for concert attendees. Reservations are mandatory due to limited capacity.
