About Corri Crispiano

Corri Crispiano is a road running race that brings the streets of Crispiano, in the province of Taranto, to life. Covering a 9-kilometre regional course starting and finishing in Piazza Madonna della Neve, the event brings together FIDAL-registered athletes and running enthusiasts from across Puglia. Organised by the ASD Crispiano Marathon Club, the event combines sport, charity, and local festivities, featuring live music and post-race refreshments with typical products from the Ionian region.

The race running through the heart of Crispiano

Corri Crispiano is a competitive road running race held in the historic centre of Crispiano, a town in the province of Taranto, in the heart of the Apulian Ionian Murgia. Organised by the ASD Crispiano Marathon Club with the approval of FIDAL Puglia and FIDAL Taranto, the event has quickly established itself as one of the most popular fixtures on the regional running calendar, attracting around a thousand runners, including both registered athletes and enthusiasts.

The course

The race follows a 9-kilometre regional road course, with the start and finish lines located in the central Piazza Madonna della Neve. The circuit winds through the town streets, offering athletes a fast urban route and providing the local community with the chance to follow the race up close. The event is part of the main Apulian running circuits, including the Corripuglia Regional Championship and the Ionian Land Running Grand Prix, which further enhance its competitive prestige.

Sport, charity, and local festivities

Corri Crispiano is more than just a sporting competition; it is an event that involves the entire community. At the end of the race, finisher medals are awarded to all participants, followed by refreshments featuring local products and live musical entertainment. A distinctive feature of the event is its charitable spirit: a portion of the registration fee is donated to charity, confirming the link between sport and social commitment that defines the initiative.

Crispiano and the surrounding area

Located between Taranto and the Murgia, the town of Crispiano is known for its landscape of Cento Masserie (One Hundred Farmhouses) and its strong rural and community traditions. Hosting a regional running race represents a great opportunity for territorial promotion and social cohesion, supported by the Municipality of Crispiano and the Puglia Region. The event helps to showcase Crispiano within the vibrant amateur running scene of Southern Italy.
