About Fasano Christmas

Fasano Christmas is the major holiday program hosted by the Municipality of Fasano, located in the province of Brindisi in the heart of Puglia. From December to January, the city comes alive with artistic papier-mâché illuminations, around fifty free events, concerts, markets, children's parades, nativity scene exhibitions, and historical walking tours. It is a month-long celebration spread across the historic center and the surrounding hamlets, from Savelletri to Selva di Fasano, blending tradition, community spirit, and entertainment for families and visitors alike.

Fasano Christmas: The city that lights up

Fasano Christmas is the grand holiday festival promoted by the Municipality of Fasano, in the province of Brindisi, in the heart of Puglia and the Itria Valley. Every year, between December and January, the historic center and the city's numerous hamlets transform into a trail of lights, music, and tradition, with a program featuring around fifty events, all with free admission. It is a Christmas designed for families and to strengthen the sense of community, with events spread throughout the entire territory.

Artistic Illuminations

The hallmark of Fasano Christmas is its artistic illuminations, true works of art created by the Faniuolo light emotion firm under master Francesco Faniuolo, crafted with papier-mâché elements thanks to the collaboration of master artisans from Putignano. A large cuboid tree dominates Piazza Ciaia, while stylized glowing trees and installations tell the story of the city. The warm LED light spreads from the center to the most beloved hamlets, from Pezze di Greco to Savelletri, from Torre Canne to Selva di Fasano, passing through Montalbano, Speziale, Laureto, and Pozzo Faceto.

A widespread program of free events

The Fasano Christmas program accompanies residents and visitors for over a month, with events almost every evening. Concerts, shows, children's entertainment, craft markets, nativity scene exhibitions, and guided walks alternate between the central squares, offering an experience that weaves together culture, gastronomy, and Apulian folk traditions.

Music, parades, and markets

  • Live concerts in the central squares, featuring the historic Banda della Città di Fasano Ignazio Ciaia and performances by the Scuola di Musica Tutto d'un Fiato.
  • Parades and children's entertainment, with Santa Claus, mascots, and street bands coloring the streets of the historic center.
  • Christmas markets along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, with artistic stands and typical seasonal products.
  • Santa Pazienza – Eventi POPolari, the musical series curated by the Cultura Viva association.

Nativity scenes, exhibitions, and historical walks

Among the most anticipated events are the international exhibition I Presepi del Chiostro (Nativity Scenes of the Cloister), set up in the Portici delle Teresiane, the evocative Living Nativity of Pezze di Greco at the Lama del Trappeto, and the historical walks among the illuminations, with a visit to the Museo Casa alla Fasanese. A journey that highlights the historical and artistic heritage of Fasano.

A Christmas for families in Puglia

With its widespread and free format, Fasano Christmas is one of the most popular holiday festivals in the province of Brindisi. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced by the Municipality: they are usually communicated in the autumn. Every year, the city renews its appointment with its signature illuminations and a program capable of uniting the center and the hamlets in one great celebration.
