About Santa Claus Village

The Santa Claus Village is the largest Christmas event in Puglia, hosted every winter in the baroque historic center of Martina Franca, in the province of Taranto. For over a month, the town transforms into an enchanted wonderland: more than forty wooden chalets featuring local crafts and traditional products, an ice skating rink, a miniature train, rides, and the grand Santa Claus house where children can deliver their letters. Free concerts and entertainment accompany families through to Epiphany, centered around Piazza XX Settembre and Piazza Maria Immacolata.

Santa Claus Village in Martina Franca

Every winter, the historic center of Martina Franca, in the heart of the Itria Valley in the province of Taranto, transforms into the Santa Claus Village, widely considered the largest Christmas event in Puglia. For over thirty days, from the first lights of winter until Epiphany, the squares and alleys of the baroque town are decked out with festive illuminations, wooden chalets, and an atmosphere that draws thousands of visitors from across the region.

A baroque town dressed for the holidays

The natural backdrop is the extraordinary historic center of Martina Franca, with its baroque palaces and churches. The heart of the event beats between Piazza XX Settembre and Piazza Maria Immacolata, but the festive setup extends throughout the urban fabric with decorations, illuminated trees, and light installations that make evening strolls even more magical.

Attractions and activities

  • Over 40 wooden chalets featuring local crafts, gift ideas, and traditional food and wine products;
  • The ice skating rink, one of the most popular attractions for young people and families;
  • The miniature train that takes adults and children on a tour of the city;
  • Rides, inflatables, and entertainment for children;
  • The grand Santa Claus house, where little ones can deliver their letters.

The program and Martin'Arte

The calendar is packed with free concerts, shows, and entertainment throughout the opening days, featuring choirs, orchestras, and family-oriented events. Alongside the village initiatives, Martin'Arte, the craft market, enlivens the Sundays of December with exhibitors, creative artisans, and handmade products.

An event for the entire Itria Valley

Organized by E20IDEA with the support of the Municipality of Martina Franca, the Santa Claus Village is now a staple of the Apulian winter calendar. Free admission, shows open to all, and the magic of one of Puglia's most beautiful towns make this event an ideal destination for a family Christmas, combining tradition, holiday shopping, and the discovery of the Itria Valley's heritage.
