The largest Christmas village in Puglia, set in the baroque heart of Martina Franca
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Every winter, the historic center of Martina Franca, in the heart of the Itria Valley in the province of Taranto, transforms into the Santa Claus Village, widely considered the largest Christmas event in Puglia. For over thirty days, from the first lights of winter until Epiphany, the squares and alleys of the baroque town are decked out with festive illuminations, wooden chalets, and an atmosphere that draws thousands of visitors from across the region.
The natural backdrop is the extraordinary historic center of Martina Franca, with its baroque palaces and churches. The heart of the event beats between Piazza XX Settembre and Piazza Maria Immacolata, but the festive setup extends throughout the urban fabric with decorations, illuminated trees, and light installations that make evening strolls even more magical.
The calendar is packed with free concerts, shows, and entertainment throughout the opening days, featuring choirs, orchestras, and family-oriented events. Alongside the village initiatives, Martin'Arte, the craft market, enlivens the Sundays of December with exhibitors, creative artisans, and handmade products.
Organized by E20IDEA with the support of the Municipality of Martina Franca, the Santa Claus Village is now a staple of the Apulian winter calendar. Free admission, shows open to all, and the magic of one of Puglia's most beautiful towns make this event an ideal destination for a family Christmas, combining tradition, holiday shopping, and the discovery of the Itria Valley's heritage.
The dates for the 2026 edition of the Santa Claus Village in Martina Franca have not yet been announced. The event, which in previous years has taken place in the historic center between November/December and Epiphany, is expected to feature its signature attractions: wooden chalets with crafts and traditional products, an ice skating rink, a miniature train, rides, and the Santa Claus house. The official program will be communicated by the organizers (E20IDEA) and the Municipality of Martina Franca closer to the event.
Martina Franca can be reached by car via the A14 motorway (Bari or Taranto exit) and the SS 172 dei Trulli state road. The city is served by the Ferrovie Sud Est railway, with connections from Bari, Taranto, and Lecce.
The village is set up in the historic center, with its epicenter at Piazza XX Settembre and Piazza Maria Immacolata.
Admission to the village, shows, and events is free. Some attractions (ice rink, train, rides) may require a separate ticket.
