The concert series of the Municipal Music School of Francavilla Fontana
The A.Gi.Mus. Artistic Season is a concert series organized in Francavilla Fontana, in the heart of Salento in the province of Brindisi, by the local branch of A.Gi.Mus. (Youth Musical Association). Hosted in the Auditorium of the "Città di Francavilla Fontana" Municipal Music School, the season runs throughout the year with a busy calendar of events from March to December.
Each edition features around twenty concerts held regularly in the municipal auditorium. The program alternates between emerging young musicians and established national names, with repertoires spanning from great classical music to chamber music, and from Baroque to Romantic and contemporary works. Piano, guitar, wind ensembles, strings, and vocalists perform in evenings designed to introduce the public to classical music in an intimate, high-quality setting.
The series stems from the activities of the Municipal Music School and is produced in collaboration with the Associazione Auditorium of Castellana Grotte, directed by Maestro Pierluigi Camicia, with the support of the Francavilla Fontana municipal administration. The artistic direction is entrusted to Maestro Antonio Curto, founder and driving force of the Music School, while the presidency of the local A.Gi.Mus. branch is held by journalist Giovanna Ciracì.
Since its first edition in 2018, the Artistic Season has hosted over 140 concerts, becoming one of the most consistent and appreciated musical events in the Brindisi area. The series is complemented by intense educational activities and the prestigious "Terra degli Imperiali" International Music Competition, which attracts hundreds of young performers from all over Italy and abroad to Francavilla Fontana every spring.
Concerts are generally held on Sunday afternoons, starting in the late afternoon, and are free of charge, with some requiring reservations. For those unable to attend in person, a live streaming service is available, extending the reach of the series well beyond the borders of Puglia.
The 9th edition of the A.Gi.Mus. Artistic Season, presented in February 2026, confirms the proven formula of around twenty concerts from March to December at the Municipal Music School Auditorium in Francavilla Fontana. The opening is entrusted, on Sunday, March 1st at 6:30 PM, to pianist Vito Alessio Calianno with the program "Golden Trilogy: Bach, Beethoven, and Liszt".
