Wines, flavors, and Christmas magic in Noci
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
During the Advent season, the town of Noci transforms its historic center into a grand celebration of taste and conviviality with Il Gusto delle Stelle – Christmas Edition. This winter version of the festival originated from a summer event held around the night of San Lorenzo, when locals would gaze at the shooting stars while toasting with regional wines. The Christmas Edition brings that same spirit into the heart of winter, set against the festive illuminations of one of the most picturesque villages in the Itria Valley, within the Metropolitan City of Bari.
Wine is the true protagonist of the event. In Piazza Garibaldi, tasting stands bring together dozens of Apulian wineries, ranging from renowned names from the Salento and Murgia regions to artisanal producers from the Itria Valley. Labels such as Leone de Castris, Apollonio, Candido, Conti Zecca, Rivera, and Torrevento are showcased alongside many others, with glasses poured and explained by sommeliers from the Italian Sommelier Association (AIS) Puglia, who guide visitors through the discovery of native regional grape varieties.
The wine experience is complemented by a gastronomic journey dedicated to Apulian winter dishes. The menu features local pasta dishes, fried salt cod, cardoncelli mushrooms, sweet and savory pettole, roasted chestnuts, hot chocolate, and porchetta sandwiches with melted cheese. To round off the experience, there are cartellate—the quintessential Apulian Christmas pastry—which are also the focus of a hands-on workshop for families.
The event seamlessly blends gastronomy with entertainment. Marching bands, flag-wavers, reggae and Christmas music, DJ sets, and traditional Bassa Musica enliven the streets of the town center throughout the two-day festival. For younger visitors, there is a puppet theater and Santa's Grotto set up in the old town: a journey designed to bring together families, wine enthusiasts, curious travelers, and tourists in one big festive celebration.
With free admission and affordable tasting prices, Il Gusto delle Stelle – Christmas Edition is designed to be accessible to everyone. The initiative was born from a collaboration between AIS Puglia, local trade associations (Confartigianato, Confcommercio, and Coldiretti), and the Municipality of Noci. Over the years, it has also taken on a charitable dimension, with a portion of the proceeds donated to local non-profit organizations. It is the perfect opportunity to experience an Apulian Christmas filled with wine, authentic flavors, and popular traditions.
The Municipality of Noci, in the Itria Valley (Metropolitan City of Bari), is preparing to renew its appointment with Il Gusto delle Stelle – Christmas Edition, the Christmas food and wine festival curated by AIS Puglia sommeliers together with local trade associations.
At the moment, the dates and program for the 2026 edition have not yet been released. Based on previous editions, the event generally takes place on the first weekend of December in Piazza Garibaldi, featuring tasting stands of Apulian wines, a gastronomic route dedicated to winter flavors, live music, and activities for children. Information will be updated as soon as it becomes available.
