The agricultural and craft fair of the Canavese region, held every first Sunday of May
Every first Sunday of May, the municipality of Corio, a small village in the Canavese area near Turin, transforms into a large open-air market. Corio Agrifest, organized by the La Burera APS Association, is an agricultural and craft fair that revives the traditional village market and the deep rural roots of this corner of Piedmont at the foot of the Valli di Lanzo. The day focuses on livestock, local produce, and the work of artisans, creating an authentic atmosphere that draws an increasing number of visitors each year.
The true stars of the show are the animals: local young breeders bring their finest livestock, and the sound of cowbells accompanies those strolling through the village streets. The most impressive cattle are displayed in the Viale Partigiani Coriesi meadow, where the public can observe the breeds raised in the region up close. In the afternoon, the animal parade through the village streets is one of the most anticipated and photographed moments of the day.
The commercial heart of the fair winds through Piazza Caduti per la Libertà, Via Cavour, and Via Claudio Chiesa, where hobbyists, artisans, and local food vendors display their creations. Piazza della Chiesa is the hub for food producers, featuring stalls with cheeses, cured meats, chocolate, and local specialties to taste and purchase. It is a gourmet stroll that tells the story of the flavors of the Canavese and the Turin valleys.
Corio Agrifest is also a festival designed for families. The AgriPark, with its straw pool and games for children, and the bird of prey flight show in the afternoon complete a program that blends rural education with fun. Over the years, the event has been enriched with new offerings, such as the Mercato delle Masche, an evening market inspired by the folk traditions of the Canavese.
Now in its 15th edition, Corio Agrifest confirms itself as one of the most heartfelt showcases in the municipality of Corio and the entire Province of Turin for those wishing to discover the authenticity of the Piedmontese agricultural world.
The 2026 edition of Corio Agrifest, the fifteenth, confirmed the winning formula of the event organized by the La Burera Association. From the early hours of the morning, the village streets were filled with stands, breeders, and visitors, in one of the most anticipated days of the Canavese spring calendar.
Every first Sunday of May. The 2026 edition took place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, with stands opening at 9:00 AM.
