About Co.Scienza
A young scientific festival in the heart of Trento
The Co.Scienza Festival is the premier science outreach event in the capital of Trentino. Born to bring the general public closer to research, it is conceived and executed entirely by students and young researchers from the University of Trento, united under the associations UNITiN and OWL (Open Wet Lab), with the support of Hub Innovazione Trentino. It is not a top-down festival, but one built from the ground up by those who study science every day: this is its hallmark in the landscape of Italian science festivals.
Eleven days of science, society, and innovation
Every edition brings to Trento, in the Autonomous Province of Trento and the Trentino-Alto Adige region, a dense program that goes far beyond the classic lecture: talks, workshops, interactive labs, theatrical performances, film forums, live concerts, and hybrid formats that blend outreach with entertainment. Events are spread across numerous city venues—from university spaces to the Sala inCooperazione, from Bookique to HarpoLab, and even theaters and the MUSE - Science Museum—transforming the entire city into a large open-air laboratory.
Guests and themes
The festival weaves together the major themes of contemporary debate: biology and lifestyle, bioethics and rights, artificial intelligence, space and geopolitics, genetic history, health, and prevention. The stage features well-known faces of Italian science communication alongside local researchers, with meetings, round tables, and live podcasts designed to speak to a broad audience without sacrificing scientific rigor.

With an expected audience of about 2,000 participants, the Co.Scienza Festival has established itself as an unmissable spring appointment for those in Trento and throughout Trentino who want to understand the world through the eyes of science.
Co.Scienza — edition 2026
The 8th edition of the Co.Scienza Festival brought 21 events over 11 days to Trento, including talks, workshops, shows, and immersive formats. Among the novelties, the return to the MUSE with "Muse con Delitto" (an experience blending outreach, theater, and escape room) and the Science Fair for children and families. Big names in science communication and local researchers addressed current topics: inflammation and lifestyle, bioethics and end-of-life, space geopolitics, genetic history of Italians, HIV, and rights. Organized by students and young researchers from the University of Trento.

Thursday, April 9 — Inauguration
- 20:00 — "Cancer seen up close", exhibition inauguration curated by the Pezcoller Foundation (Sala Caritro), free admission
Friday, April 10
- 20:30 — Constellations. Science and legends of the sky in music (Physical Pub, Teatro Sanbàpolis): a show blending science, myth, and live music
Saturday, April 11 — Sala Caritro
- 17:00 — Intersex: beyond binarism, with Michela Balocchi (intersexioni)
- 19:30 — Soft computing, with Davide Manzoni (Brainlink): genetic algorithms, fuzzy logic, swarm intelligence
- 21:00 — The lifestyle that inflames, with Antonella Viola: chronic inflammation and daily choices
Sunday, April 12 — MUSE
- 14:00-18:00 — Science Fair (MUSE Garden): games and experiments for children and families, free admission
- 18:30 — New snow tigers?, with Daniele Da Re and Margo Blaha (Edmund Mach Foundation): the tiger mosquito in the Alpine arc
- 21:00 — From survival to observation, Team Shelters (Polytechnic of Turin): Alpine architecture and climate

- 19:30 — Fungi and consciousness (Bookique), with Nicola De Pisapia and Monica Fontanari
- The equations of the heart: when mathematics meets medicine

How to get there
Trento is served by the railway station on the Brenner line (Verona-Bolzano-Munich) and the A22 Brenner motorway (exit Trento Centro/Trento Nord). Festival venues are within walking distance of the city center; the MUSE is located in the Le Albere district.
Admission and reservations
