Valle dei Laghi Book Festival

A literary festival in the heart of Garda Trentino

The Valle dei Laghi Book Festival is a travelling cultural event held in the Valle dei Laghi, halfway between Lake Garda and the city of Trento, in Trentino-Alto Adige. Created to bring the public closer to reading and books, the festival travels through the towns of Cavedine, Madruzzo, and Vallelaghi, hosting events in local districts, squares, libraries, and the most picturesque corners of the region.

Every book is a world

The central theme of the festival is captured in the motto «Every book is a world: books in celebration!»: the idea that every open volume is a gateway to stories, places, and people. The program blends literature, nature, and community in an informal and welcoming atmosphere, appealing both to avid readers and those discovering the pleasure of the written page for the first time.

A widespread and multidisciplinary program

During the festival, dozens of events take place throughout the Valle dei Laghi area. Recurring highlights include:

• Book presentations with authors and publishers;
• Literary walks through the landscapes and sacred landmarks of the area;
• Creative workshops on writing, calligraphy, bookbinding, and papermaking;
• Performances, readings aloud, and concerts;

A local event

The Valle dei Laghi Book Festival is promoted by Edizioni del Faro (Tangram Editorial Group) with the support of the Associated Culture Commission of the Valle dei Laghi Community and the Trentino Library System, in collaboration with local municipalities, libraries, and organizations. The travelling nature of the festival makes it a perfect opportunity to discover the villages and lakeside landscapes of this corner of the province of Trento alongside the books.

When and where

The festival is usually held in September, spanning three days, with events distributed between Cavedine and other towns in the Valle dei Laghi. Many initiatives are free to enter, while some workshops may require registration.
