The artisanal chocolate festival in the heart of the Belice Valley
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Ciocco Fest is the annual event that transforms the historic center of Castelvetrano—located in the province of Trapani and the heart of the Belice Valley—into the "city of sweetness." Along Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and the charming Sistema delle Piazze, a delicious trail of stalls, aromas, and artisanal chocolate specialties unfolds, attracting thousands of curious visitors and enthusiasts from all over Sicily.
Ciocco Fest was born as a traveling festival across the municipalities of the Belice area: previous editions have visited Gibellina, Partanna, and Campobello di Mazara, before returning to Castelvetrano, bolstered by the success of previous years. It has become a highly anticipated date on the Sicilian spring calendar, successfully blending regional promotion, the celebration of historic monuments, and a passion for sweets.
The heart of the festival lies in its gourmet stalls, featuring dozens of exhibitors and master chocolatiers offering every possible variation of cocoa. Among the most popular treats:
There is also space for educational workshops on chocolate making, hosted in evocative venues like the former Convento dei Minimi, where adults and children alike can discover the secrets of cocoa processing.
Beyond gastronomy, Ciocco Fest offers a rich entertainment program: street bands, live music, group dancing, and DJ sets animate the evenings, while urban tours of the historic center's monuments, impromptu painting sessions, and cultural initiatives enrich the experience. Organized by the Pro Loco Selinunte with the support of the Municipality of Castelvetrano, the event is a wonderful opportunity for gathering, social sharing, and celebrating local culinary traditions, all in the spirit of the hospitality that defines this corner of western Sicily.
The 2026 edition of Ciocco Fest in Castelvetrano is expected to take place in the spring, following the success of previous years. The official dates and the 2026 program have not yet been communicated by the organizers. As soon as they are announced, the artisanal chocolate festival will return to animate Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and the Sistema delle Piazze with stalls, workshops, music, and tastings.
Castelvetrano is located in western Sicily, in the province of Trapani. By car, it can be reached via the A29 Palermo-Mazara del Vallo motorway (Castelvetrano exit). The Castelvetrano railway station is served by the regional line. The nearest airports are Trapani-Birgi and Palermo-Punta Raisi.
Access to the event area is generally free; tastings and products at the stalls are available for purchase.
The event takes place in the historic center, which is largely pedestrianized; we recommend parking in the adjacent areas. Don't miss a visit to the city's monuments and the nearby Selinunte Archaeological Park.
