The end-of-school celebration for children and families in Nichelino
The Children's Midnight White Night debuts in Nichelino, a populous town in the greater Turin area, in Piedmont. Promoted by the City of Nichelino, the event was born with a simple and precious goal: to offer children and their families a special moment of celebration before the start of the summer holidays, transforming the heart of the city into a large shared play area.
The appointment is for Friday, June 12, 2026, in Piazza G. Di Vittorio, from 5:00 PM to midnight. For the occasion, the square and surrounding streets are closed to traffic and returned to pedestrians: from 4:00 PM on June 12 to 1:00 AM on June 13, parking and traffic are prohibited on Via Torino, in the stretch between Via XXV Aprile and Via Massimo D'Azeglio. A choice that allows children and parents to experience the urban space in complete safety, from late afternoon until midnight.
Designed as a major street event, the Children's Midnight White Night aims above all to be an opportunity for the entire Nichelino community to meet. The end of the school year becomes a pretext to bring together pupils, students, teachers, and families in a lighthearted and shared atmosphere, where the city center comes alive until evening with the cheerful chatter of the little ones.
Among the most anticipated moments is the free distribution of a slice of focaccia, starting from 7:30 PM, reserved for pupils, students, and teachers while supplies last. A simple and symbolic gesture that strengthens the convivial spirit of the festival, to be enjoyed all together outdoors on one of the first evenings of summer.
With this first edition, Nichelino enriches its summer event calendar with an appointment entirely dedicated to children, in line with the tradition of the "white nights" that animate many Italian cities. A formula that combines the dimension of a city festival with the more intimate one of an end-of-school celebration, aiming to become a fixed appointment in the month of June in the province of Turin.
