Turin's sustainable, free-entry stage
Established in 2021, the Impatto Zero Festival is one of the most original summer events in the city of Turin, Piedmont. Its guiding idea is simple yet powerful: to bring live culture into school courtyards, turning them into natural arenas where large trees create a green canopy and the acoustics blend with neighborhood life. The result is a widespread, accessible, and truly low-impact stage, completely free of charge.
The festival takes place in two complementary spaces. Arena Manin comes to life in the courtyard of the Muratori School, at Via Manin 18, in the Vanchiglietta district; while Musica alla Spina enlivens the courtyard of the De Amicis School, at Vicolo Grosso 3, in the heart of Valdocco. These are two everyday city locations that, for an entire summer, become open-air concert halls accessible to all citizens.
The programming is intentionally multidisciplinary. Alongside concerts—ranging from choral music to orchestral ensembles, jazz, world music, and electronic music—there are film screenings, theatrical performances (including those for children), and numerous workshops dedicated to music, singing, cinema, and theater. It is a schedule designed for families, curious audiences, and anyone wanting to experience a Turin summer without leaving the city.
The festival is promoted by the Fondazione Cantabile ETS, which is active in musical culture and choral singing, and benefits from the collaboration of local associations and entities such as Antiloco for cinema and Fools Teatro for drama. The "Fare comunità " (Building Community) project involves the Regio Parco and Gino Strada comprehensive institutes and extends to the Aurora, Barriera Milano, and Vanchiglia districts, intertwining artistic programming with educational commitment.
All events of the 2026 edition, from June 12 to September 26, are free. This choice makes the Impatto Zero Festival a popular and inclusive event for the citizens of Turin and for those visiting the Piedmontese capital during the summer months.
The 2026 edition of the Impatto Zero Festival opens with two inaugural evenings. Friday, June 12 at 9:30 PM, at the De Amicis School, Musica alla Spina hosts the Turin-based choral group NOX with the concert "Rivoluzioni. I cambiamenti e le innovazioni della musica, nel tempo" (Revolutions. Changes and innovations in music over time). Saturday, June 13 at 9:30 PM, at the Muratori School, Arena Manin welcomes the Volpianese Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Pietro Marchetti.
From there, a summer schedule begins that weaves together concerts, film screenings, and theatrical performances, with the collaboration of the Antiloco and Fools Teatro associations, running until September 26. The "Fare comunità " project involves five schools in the Aurora, Barriera Milano, and Vanchiglia districts.
