The green gold of the Caserta region, featuring tastings, oil mills, and live music

The Cervino Olive Oil Festival is the autumn event that the small town of Cervino, in the province of Caserta, dedicates to its most precious product: extra virgin olive oil. Every year, towards the end of October, the town comes alive around Piazza Madonna delle Grazie to welcome producers, millers, curious visitors, and food enthusiasts. It is one of the most deeply rooted festivals in inland Campania, now in its twenty-seventh year, born from the desire to promote the 'green gold' of this area at the foot of Mount Virgo.
The festival program always intertwines two themes: the social aspect, with food stalls and traditional dishes, and the cultural side, with conferences and meetings dedicated to oleotourism. During the evenings of the event, the streets of the center fill with aromas: bruschetta with new oil, legume soups, typical Campanian dishes, and traditional rural desserts are served at stalls managed by local farms and oil mills. There are also opportunities to discover the production cycle, with guided tours of local oil mills and tastings of freshly pressed oil.
In recent years, the festival has also become an opportunity for institutional discussion: at the Casa della Vigna, conferences on oleotourism are held with agronomists, producers, and representatives of the Campania Region. Organizations like DRV Olio, the Pro Loco Cervino, and the FareBene APS association work together to promote Cervino oil as an identity product, capable of showcasing the agricultural landscape and the rural history of this part of the Caserta area.
Alongside the tastings, the Cervino Olive Oil Festival offers a rich array of entertainment: concerts and live music, piano bar evenings, trekking through the olive groves, and motor enthusiast gatherings enliven the days. The Sunday lunch in the square is one of the most anticipated moments, when the community gathers around tables to share the flavors of the land.
An ideal stop for those who want to discover authentic Campania, far from the most beaten tourist paths, and savor the genuineness of new oil directly from the hands of those who produce it.
The Cervino Olive Oil Festival is expected to return in autumn 2026, confirming itself as one of the most cherished food and wine events in the province of Caserta. Awaiting the official poster, the edition is announced for the end of October, during the olive milling period, when the new oil is the absolute protagonist.
The established format includes food stalls in Piazza Madonna delle Grazie, tastings of extra virgin olive oil and typical products, visits to oil mills, conferences on oleotourism at the Casa della Vigna, and live music evenings. For the detailed program, times, and confirmation of dates, it is best to wait for official announcements from Pro Loco Cervino and the Municipality.
Cervino is located in the province of Caserta, in inland Campania. By car, it can be reached from the A1 motorway (Caserta Nord exit) or the A30, continuing along the provincial roads towards the Maddaloni area. The reference railway station is Maddaloni, served by regional lines; from there, you can continue by car or local transport.
Entry to the festival is free. Food stalls and dishes are available for purchase at popular prices. Evenings typically start from 7:00 PM, while conferences, oil mill visits, and trekking take place during the day.
Bring cash for the stalls and wear comfortable clothing for walks through the olive groves. For updated dates and programs, it is best to follow the Pro Loco Cervino Facebook page.
