The Cerretti Tripe Festival
In the heart of Tuscany, between the lower Valdarno and the Valdinievole, the small village of Cerretti — a hillside hamlet in the municipality of Santa Maria a Monte, in the province of Pisa — hosts one of the most beloved gastronomic festivals in the area every year. For seven evenings at the end of June, around the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and in the square named after Don Giuseppe Parretti, Cerretti transforms into the capital of traditional cuisine.
Tripe, the undisputed star
The dish that gives the event its name is naturally tripe, prepared according to the Tuscan recipe that celebrates the "fifth quarter" and beef offal. But the festival menu does not stop there: the food stalls offer numerous other local specialties, from appetizers to main courses, accompanied by aperitifs, good local wine, and fresh desserts. All this at affordable prices, with table service, in the convivial spirit that has always distinguished Tuscan village festivals.
Music, dancing, and dinner-and-a-movie
The strength of the Tripe Festival is also its entertainment program: every evening after dinner, you can dance and celebrate with live music, orchestras, cover bands, DJs, and group dances. One evening in particular, Thursday, is dedicated to the dinner-and-a-movie event: a special dinner with limited seating, by reservation only, which combines good food and a film screening, a formula highly appreciated by regulars.
A village festival run by volunteers
The event is organized by the CerrettInsieme Association, which has been committed to enlivening the small community for years, with the patronage of the Municipality of Santa Maria a Monte. It is one of those authentic festivals where the proceeds support the life of the village and where local volunteers come together to welcome visitors from all over the Valdarno and Valdinievole areas. An unmissable appointment for those who love the true flavors of Tuscany and the genuine atmosphere of small towns.

The Cerretti Tripe Festival returns in 2026 with seven evenings of celebration in Santa Maria a Monte, in the province of Pisa. The dates and the established formula combining good food and entertainment are confirmed.
The evenings
- Friday 19, Saturday 20, and Sunday 21 June — stalls open from 8:00 PM, tripe and Tuscan specialties, live music and dancing to follow.
- Thursday 25 June — special dinner-and-a-movie evening, limited seating, by reservation only (tel. +39 378 4301649).
- Friday 26, Saturday 27, and Sunday 28 June — food stalls and musical entertainment every evening.

How to get there
Cerretti is a hillside hamlet of Santa Maria a Monte (PI), easily accessible by car from the FI-PI-LI highway (Santa Croce sull'Arno or Montopoli exit) and the SS67 road. The nearest train stations are San Romano-Montopoli-Santa Croce and Pontedera-Casciana Terme, on the Florence-Pisa line.
Opening hours
The food stalls open every evening from 8:00 PM (until approximately 11:45 PM). Entertainment and music follow.
Costs and reservations
