Scents and flavors of Abruzzo on the Adriatic shore, along the Montesilvano seafront
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Cerasuolo a Mare is one of the most anticipated food and wine events of the Montesilvano summer. Promoted by Confesercenti Provinciale Pescara, the festival celebrates Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, the rosé wine made from Montepulciano grapes that has gained increasing success with both the public and critics in recent years. The event brings the Montesilvano seafront to life, in the heart of the Adriatic coast in the province of Pescara, turning beach clubs into true tasting hubs spread along the shore.
The formula is simple and convivial: by purchasing the tasting kit, which includes a glass holder pouch and a glass, visitors can sample wines offered by the participating Abruzzese wineries. Each tasting point, set up within the participating beach clubs, hosts several wineries, and sommeliers guide the public in discovering the different interpretations of Cerasuolo. The wines are accompanied by gastronomic pairings prepared by the beach bars: anchovy skewers, arrosticini, bruschetta, fried seafood, timballi, and other traditional Abruzzese specialties.
The event brings together numerous players from the regional wine scene, ranging from historic cellars to young local producers. Over the years, well-known names in Abruzzese oenology have taken part in the event, such as Tenuta Ulisse, Cantina Tollo, Pasetti, Duchi di Castelluccio, Marramiero, and Terre di Masciulli, showcasing the quality and variety of Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo production.
Cerasuolo a Mare began as a fixed stop in the Montesilvano summer, but over the years it has developed into a food and wine itinerary that touches several locations on the Abruzzese Adriatic coast, involving different provinces. The Montesilvano stage remains the heart of the event, with its sea view and the festive atmosphere of summer evenings.
Strolling along the seafront with a glass in hand, moving from one beach bar to another, is the best way to experience the event: the organizers recommend reaching the venue on foot or by bicycle, given the specific traffic conditions of the coastline. Cerasuolo a Mare thus combines the promotion of Abruzzo's signature wine with the tourist enhancement of the Municipality of Montesilvano and the entire province of Pescara, in a setting of conviviality that attracts thousands of enthusiasts every year.
For the 2026 summer as well, Cerasuolo a Mare is among the confirmed events in the Montesilvano summer calendar. The event, promoted by Confesercenti Provinciale Pescara, will bring back to the seafront the tastings of Abruzzo's rosé wine paired with the seafood cuisine of the beach clubs. At the moment, the official dates and the complete program for the 2026 edition have not yet been released by the organizers: it is recommended to follow the channels of Confesercenti Pescara and the Municipality for updates.
Montesilvano is located on the Adriatic coast in the province of Pescara. By car: A14 motorway exit Pescara Nord-Città Sant'Angelo, then follow signs for the seafront. By train: Montesilvano station on the Adriatic line. The nearest airport is Abruzzo Airport in Pescara.
