Roman cuisine arrives in Piazza Garibaldi in Correggio
The Carbonara Festival transforms Piazza Garibaldi, in the heart of Correggio (Province of Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna), into a large food village dedicated to Roman culinary tradition for three days. The event celebrates one of the iconic dishes of Italian cuisine, carbonara, but it is above all a journey through the authentic flavors of the Eternal City, offered by gastronomic stands and chefs who have come directly from Rome.

The Carbonara Festival is not just about gastronomy: each evening is enlivened by live music and entertainment that recreate the convivial atmosphere of Roman festivals, with folk songs, popular tunes, and shows. It is an event designed for everyone, with completely free admission, attracting families, young people, and good food enthusiasts from Correggio and the entire Bassa Reggiana region.
The Carbonara Festival is a traveling event that brings Roman cuisine to the squares of various Italian cities. The Correggio stop confirms the Emilian town's vocation for popular gastronomic events, capable of combining food quality with the pleasure of being together outdoors, in the city's living room, Piazza Garibaldi.
The 2026 edition of the Carbonara Festival took place in Correggio (RE) from Friday, March 20 to Sunday, March 22, in Piazza Garibaldi. The city center was transformed into a large food area dedicated to the authentic flavors of Rome, with gastronomic stands and chefs from the capital.
The star was carbonara, alongside amatriciana, cacio e pepe, supplì, pinsa, and maritozzo. Evenings were accompanied by live music and entertainment, with completely free admission.

By car: Correggio is reachable from the A1 (Reggio Emilia exit) and the A22 Brenner motorway, continuing along provincial roads towards the Bassa Reggiana. By train: Correggio station is served by the regional line; bus connections are available from Reggio Emilia station.
Free admission. Food stands open on Friday from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM, on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Tables and benches are available for enjoying dishes in the square.
