The festival of the cappelletto and flavors of Romagna in Ravenna
Caplèt & Friends is the gastronomic culture event that every autumn enlivens Piazza Kennedy, in the heart of the Municipality of Ravenna, in Emilia-Romagna. The event inherits the legacy of the historic Festa del Cappelletto and brings to the square not only the quintessential symbol of Romagna cuisine — the caplèt, the small stuffed pasta — but also stuffed pasta, soups, piadina, and a long review of local flavors.
Caplèt & Friends is not just a food festival: it is a journey that intertwines taste, tradition, and dissemination. During the four days, there are gastronomic encounters, guided tastings, cooking shows, workshops for children, and in-depth sessions dedicated to Romagna's products and crafts. The exhibition area hosts stalls, restaurants, and producers, while in the evening the square comes alive with live concerts and DJ sets.
The heart of the event is the collaboration between local chefs and restaurants. Among the protagonists of recent editions are establishments from Ravenna and the coast such as Mercato Coperto, Officine del Sale in Cervia, Ustarèia in Savarna, and Zeno Caffè & Cucina, alongside guest kitchens that also bring specialties from other provinces of Emilia-Romagna to the square.
The Romagna cappelletto — the caplèt in dialect — is the festive stuffed pasta, traditionally served in broth. In Ravenna, its preparation is a family ritual: during the festival, themed tastings and discussions such as «Caplèt, Turtlèn, Anolén» explore the many variations of stuffed pasta from Emilia-Romagna, from fillings to cheeses, from Romagna eggs to pairings with local wines.
The event is preceded by «Road to Caplèt», a series of introductory events hosted in the weeks before by restaurants and venues in Ravenna and Cervia, featuring tasting menus dedicated to cappelletto and Romagna cuisine.
Caplèt & Friends is designed for families, food and wine enthusiasts, and the curious: entrance to the area is free, with free workshops for children and guided tastings with limited spots upon reservation. It is organized by the Confesercenti Ravenna-Cesena system with the patronage of the Municipality of Ravenna and the Province of Ravenna, in collaboration with local associations and producers.
The 2026 edition of Caplèt & Friends is scheduled in Ravenna from Thursday, October 8th to Sunday, October 11th, 2026, in Piazza Kennedy. The event confirms the proven formula that combines food stalls, local restaurants, and guest kitchens with a packed schedule of events.
Among the announced contents: the opening aperitif, cooking shows, and themed guided tastings (from Romagna eggs to cheese fillings, from the «Caplèt, Turtlèn, Anolén» comparison to «Piadina & Friends» with regional wines), workshops for children, educational talks, and evening concerts with DJ sets.

By train: Ravenna station is about a 10-minute walk from Piazza Kennedy.
By car: Exit Ravenna from the A14dir; it is advisable to use the city center parking lots due to the ZTL (limited traffic zone).
By plane: reference airports are Bologna (BLQ), Rimini (RMI), and Forlì (FRL).
Access to the stall area is free. Guided tastings have limited spots (usually max 30 people) with advance booking and token purchase (around 5 euros per session). Children's workshops are free.
Food stalls open from Thursday evening (6:00 PM - 10:00 PM) and from Friday to Sunday with continuous hours (11:00 AM - 10:00 PM).
