Every autumn Sunday the Montefeltro village celebrates the prized white truffle
When autumn arrives, the village of Sant'Agata Feltria, in the Province of Rimini and in the heart of Montefeltro, transforms into a large open-air market dedicated to the king of the autumn table: the prized white truffle (Tuber magnatum pico). The National Fair of the White Truffle and of Agro-Silvo-Pastoral Products is considered one of the most important events in the sector nationally and takes place every Sunday between October and the first days of November.
Included in the club of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, Sant'Agata Feltria welcomes visitors with its historic center gathered around the Rocca Fregoso, the castle that dominates the town, and the Angelo Mariani Theatre, one of the oldest wooden historic theatres in Italy. During the fair days, the squares and alleys of the village fill with hundreds of stalls: truffle hunters offering freshly dug truffles, producers of cheeses, cured meats, honey, chestnuts, and mushrooms, exhibitors of crafts (ceramics, wrought iron, wood, leather), and wineries with an enological section dedicated to wine culture.
The gastronomic heart of the event is the restaurant pavilion, where local businesses prepare truffle-based dishes: tagliatelle, eggs, meats, and specialties of the Romagna region. Among the most anticipated events are the truffle dog competition, the award ceremony for the best truffle at the fair, and the itinerant shows that liven up the town's streets. The fair is also an opportunity to discover undergrowth products and the agro-silvo-pastoral excellences of the Apennines.
Although today located in the Province of Rimini and in Emilia-Romagna, Sant'Agata Feltria retains the soul of historic Montefeltro, a short distance from the border with the Marche region and the Republic of San Marino. It is no coincidence that the village is also famous as the Christmas Village, with its Christmas market and Santa Claus's house, which extend the festive season beyond the truffle fair. A weekend in Sant'Agata Feltria in autumn means combining good food, the nature of the Apennines, and the history of one of Italy's most evocative medieval villages.
The 42nd edition of the National Fair of the Prized White Truffle and of Agro-Silvo-Pastoral Products will take place in Sant'Agata Feltria (RN) on the Sundays of October 4, 11, 18, 25 and November 1, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM. The historic center will host about 170 stalls dedicated to fresh white truffle, typical Apennine products, crafts, and local wines.
The dates are official (fair and market register of the Emilia-Romagna Region and Pro Loco website of Sant'Agata Feltria), while the detailed 2026 program is still being defined. Based on recent editions, the truffle dog competition, the award ceremony for the best truffle at the fair, the restaurant pavilion with truffle dishes, the enological section, and itinerant shows are expected.
The complete calendar will be published by the Pro Loco in the weeks preceding the event.
