The 'notte bianca' of Capanne, featuring music, street food, and the legendary Discoteca Concorde
Capanne under the Stars is the local festival that brings the village of Capanne, in the municipality of Montopoli in Val d'Arno (Pisa), to life every year on June 2nd, Italy's Republic Day. For one evening, Piazza Vittorio Veneto and the surrounding streets turn into a large open-air lounge, complete with music, gastronomy, and activities for all ages. It is one of those community celebrations where the entire village gathers in the streets, effectively marking the beginning of the warm season in the Pisan Valdarno.
The event was born from the initiative of the Capanne Natural Commercial Center and its local merchants, with the support of Confcommercio Province of Pisa, the patronage of the Municipality of Montopoli in Val d'Arno, and the collaboration of the Chamber of Commerce of North-West Tuscany – Terre di Pisa. The goal is twofold: to promote local businesses and to offer residents and visitors a widespread celebration where shops, bars, and restaurants take center stage alongside local associations.
The program is intentionally diverse. Starting from the morning or afternoon, there are outdoor activities: a dog-friendly meeting led by trainer Patrizia Guarino, dedicated to our four-legged friends, and a mountain bike trail organized by Team Zamparella. Throughout the day, there are markets, entertainment and games for children, and a rich food and drinks area managed by the Merchants' Association, featuring local specialties.
As evening falls, the most anticipated moment arrives: the DJ tour of the legendary Discoteca Concorde, a historic local venue, bringing the best dance music and the greatest hits that defined Tuscan summers to the square. Between a musical aperitif and a DJ set, Capanne stays lively until midnight.
A hamlet of Montopoli in Val d'Arno, Capanne is located along the axis connecting Pisa to the lower Valdarno, in an area known for its tanning tradition and the small villages of the Tuscan countryside. A 'notte bianca' like this is the perfect opportunity to discover the conviviality of a village that truly lives in its square, offering an authentic slice of Tuscany far from the main tourist circuits.
The 4th edition of Capanne under the Stars was held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 5:00 PM until midnight, in Piazza Vittorio Veneto. The square transformed into an open-air space designed for families, youth, and music lovers, with a program combining sports, gastronomy, and entertainment. The event was once again organized by the Capanne Natural Commercial Center in collaboration with Confcommercio Pisa, under the patronage of the Municipality of Montopoli in Val d'Arno.
