Berglertafel (Mountaineer's Dinner)

The Berglertafel, literally the "mountaineer's dinner," is one of the most evocative gastronomic events in South Tyrol. It takes place in the municipality of Tiers am Rosengarten, in the province of Bolzano (Trentino-Alto Adige), on the Proa meadow, a natural balcony overlooking the hamlet of Weißlahnbad at an altitude of over 1,200 meters.

The heart of the event is a single, massive table over 100 meters long, where 170 guests sit side by side under the open sky of the Dolomites. All around, the imposing walls of the Rosengarten—the mountain range of the legendary King Laurin—frame an evening that culminates with the enrosadira, the phenomenon where the Dolomite rock glows pink and orange at sunset.

The menu and specialties

Guests are guided through a five-course menu that highlights the traditional dishes of the Tiers valley and South Tyrolean cuisine, carefully prepared by local chefs. Water and wine are included in the price and served unlimitedly throughout the dinner, which runs approximately from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

How to participate

The Berglertafel is a limited-capacity event and requires reservation. Seats are primarily reserved for guests staying at partner accommodations in the area; a limited number of tickets is made available to South Tyrolean residents through the Tiers am Rosengarten Tourist Office. Tradition and territory

The event is organized by the tourist association and the HGV operators of Tiers am Rosengarten and represents a moment of strong local identity: the dinner combines mountain hospitality, local gastronomy, and the natural spectacle of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. There is also a winter version of the event, the Berglertafel im Winter, held in January.
