Craft beer, Casertano black pig, and live music in the heart of the Alto Casertano region
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Beer Festival and Casertano Black Pig Festival is one of the most anticipated summer events in the municipality of Giano Vetusto, a small village in the Agro Caleno area located just a few kilometers from Caserta, in the heart of Campania. Originally a small village fair, the event has grown over the years to become a major attraction for the entire province: in 2025, the Pro Loco Janus celebrated its twentieth edition, confirming a tradition now deeply embedded in the local community.
The gastronomic heart of the festival is the Casertano black pig, a prized indigenous swine breed from the Alto Casertano region, appreciated for the quality of its meat and the traditional processing methods passed down through generations. At the stands set up on Viale Progresso, you can enjoy steaks, sausages, and dishes made from this grilled meat, accompanied by sauces and fresh pasta from the Campanian peasant cuisine. Promoting this local product also serves to protect an indigenous breed and its local supply chains.
As the name suggests, the other main star is craft beer: the festival offers tastings and draughts that combine local excellence with the refreshing nature of the drink, ensuring evenings full of conviviality. The event's slogan, "Days in the Company of Taste", perfectly summarizes its spirit: being together, eating well, and toasting in good company under the August sky.
Every evening, the Beer Festival offers a rich program of live music, DJ sets, entertainment, group dancing, and karaoke. There is no shortage of famous guests: the 2025 edition featured the renowned Neapolitan comic singer-songwriter Tony Tammaro and comedian Simone Schettino, among the most anticipated highlights of the evenings.
The Giano Vetusto Beer Festival has free admission and takes place in the Viale Progresso sports complex, a large and easily accessible space. Organized by the APS Pro Loco Janus association, the event is the result of the hard work of local volunteers and represents a precious opportunity to rediscover the food and wine traditions of the Alto Casertano in a festive and familiar atmosphere.
Pro Loco Janus has not yet published the official dates and program for the 2026 edition. Based on previous editions, the event is expected to return in August to Giano Vetusto, featuring craft beers, dishes based on Casertano black pig, live music, and free admission. Information will be updated as soon as it becomes available on the organization's official channels.
Giano Vetusto is located in the Alto Casertano region, about 25 kilometers from Caserta. By car, it can be reached from the nearest A1 motorway exits (Caianello or Capua) by continuing along the provincial roads that cross the Agro Caleno. The festival takes place at the Viale Progresso sports complex.
Admission is free. Food stands and tastings generally open in the early evening, while musical performances and entertainment liven up the night. Payment is only required for purchases at the stands.
