The festival celebrating the sweet autumn fruit in the heart of the Aversa area

Every September, when the vines of the Aversa countryside turn deep purple, the town of Casaluce, in the province of Caserta, gathers to celebrate its most cherished fruit: the strawberry grape. The Strawberry Grape Festival is one of the most beloved events in this corner of Campania, a late-summer ritual that brings together tastings, traditional cuisine, and lively entertainment in Piazza Falcone, the beating heart of the festivities.
With an intense, unmistakable aroma reminiscent of the strawberry from which it takes its name, the strawberry grape is a rustic variety that was once common in the gardens and orchards of the Campanian plains. Exceptionally sweet, with a thick skin and juicy pulp, it is enjoyed fresh, in jams, or transformed into homemade wines and syrups. The festival was created to bring this nostalgic product back to the forefront, strengthening the bond between the community and its land.
The program spans two intense days. The food and wine stalls set up in the square offer traditional starters and main courses, mozzarella, desserts, and, of course, strawberry grapes in all their forms. Alongside the food, there is plenty of entertainment: live music, DJ sets, and, above all, the highly anticipated "Corrida - Dilettanti allo sbaraglio", a comedy show that invites local singers, impersonators, and amateur performers to the stage for a night of laughter and applause.
The Strawberry Grape Festival is designed to be inclusive and family-oriented. An accessible play area is set up in Piazza Falcone, allowing children to have fun in safety while parents enjoy the performances and local specialties. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is that of a genuine village fair where generations come together.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco Casaluce "Casaluci" APS, with the patronage of the Municipality of Casaluce. Now in its tenth edition as of 2025, the festival has become a staple of the local calendar, attracting visitors from neighboring towns in the Aversa area and reinforcing the local sense of identity. It is a precious piece of the rich mosaic of autumn festivals in the province of Caserta and throughout Campania.
The festival takes place in Piazza Falcone, in the center of Casaluce (CE), postcode 81030, in the province of Caserta.
By car: Casaluce can be reached from the Aversa Nord exit of the Asse Mediano, a short distance from the junctions for Naples and Caserta. By train: the reference stations are those on the Aversa line, with onward travel by car or local bus.
Admission to the event is free. Food stalls are available in the square, and there is an accessible play area for children. We recommend checking for updated dates and programs on the Pro Loco Casaluce "Casaluci" social media channels.
