A Magical Christmas is the major inter-municipal holiday festival that, throughout December, unites six towns in the Caserta area in a single calendar of events: Casaluce, Casapesenna, Frignano, San Cipriano d'Aversa, San Marcellino, and Villa di Briano. Coordinated by the municipalities of the Agro Aversano, led by San Cipriano d'Aversa, and funded by the Campania Region, the event was created to rediscover and promote local traditions and products linked to the area's Mediterranean food and wine culture.
In the town of Frignano, in the province of Caserta, the heart of the festival beats in Piazza della Repubblica, which transforms into an open-air Christmas lounge. Concerts, children's shows, entertainment, choirs, and tastings mark the Sundays of Advent, involving families, children, and visitors from neighboring towns in the spirit of togetherness typical of the holidays.
The festival features around twenty events designed for every age group. Recent editions have included big names from the Neapolitan and Campanian scene:
More than just a series of concerts, A Magical Christmas is a regional promotion project that weaves together cultural tourism, the enhancement of the Agro Aversano villages, and the rediscovery of roots. The setting includes fascinating landmarks such as the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Casaluce, which houses a fine 18th-century Neapolitan organ and frescoes from the Giotto school. In Frignano, as in the other towns involved, the festival becomes an opportunity to enjoy the squares, gather as a community, and savor the authentic spirit of a Campanian Christmas.
The detailed calendar for the 2026 edition of A Magical Christmas in Frignano is not yet available. As this is a Christmas event, the program with dates, locations, and guests is generally published closer to December. This page will be updated as soon as the Agro Aversano municipalities release official information.
In Frignano, events are mainly held in Piazza della Repubblica, in the town center. The festival also takes place across the other five towns of the Agro Aversano: Casaluce, Casapesenna, San Cipriano d'Aversa, San Marcellino, and Villa di Briano.
Frignano can be reached by car from the Agro Aversano motorway exit (A1/A30), a short distance from Aversa and Caserta. The nearest train station is Aversa, served by regional lines and the metro; from there, you can continue via local road connections.
Events in the squares are generally free and open to everyone. It is recommended to check dates, times, and the updated program on the official channels of the participating municipalities as the holidays approach.
