ASI Fest: sport becomes a show in Sciacca
ASI Fest is the summer event in Sciacca, in the province of Agrigento, that transforms the squares and spaces of the historic center into a grand open-air stage dedicated to the world of associations. Launched in 2025 by the ASI Agrigento Provincial Committee (Italian Sports and Social Associations), the event brings together affiliated local groups for a single evening to showcase the results of a full year of work, training, and rehearsals.
A showcase of disciplines and talents
The program alternates between exhibitions, artistic performances, and sports demonstrations in a fast-paced rhythm that keeps the audience glued to their seats. Diverse and complementary disciplines take the stage, including:
- Dance in its many forms, from modern dance to group choreography;
- Martial arts and kickboxing, with technical and combat demonstrations;
- Fitness, calisthenics, and aerobic gymnastics;
- Twirling and pole dance;
- Singing and theater moments;
- and even mountain biking and other activities proposed by affiliated associations.
The participating groups come not only from Sciacca but from the entire province of Agrigento and the nearby provinces of Trapani and Palermo, confirming ASI's role as a network capable of uniting clubs, gyms, and sports groups across Western Sicily.
A community event
More than just a festival, ASI Fest is intended as a moment of celebration and sharing: sport is presented as a driver of community and social value, capable of bringing together young people, families, and curious onlookers. The evening, hosted by local presenters, is free to attend and is designed as the ideal opening for the Sciacca summer season, before the August break.
The initiative is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Sciacca and the ASI Sicily Regional Committee, underscoring the bond between sports associations and local institutions. For the public, it is an opportunity to discover the rich fabric of local associations and, perhaps, find the inspiration to try a new discipline.
ASI Fest — edition 2026
For the 2026 edition, ASI Fest changed its setting, moving to the lower courtyard of the Palazzo Comunale of Sciacca, which transformed into a vibrant open-air theater on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 9:00 PM. Promoted by the ASI Agrigento Provincial Committee with the patronage of the Municipality of Sciacca and the ASI Sicily Regional Committee, the evening brought together ten associations from the provinces of Agrigento, Trapani, and Palermo.
Performances of dance, martial arts, fitness, theater, singing, pole dance, twirling, and aerobic gymnastics alternated on stage, welcomed by over 500 spectators amidst colors, music, and enthusiasm. The event was hosted by Olga Galluzzo and Giuseppe Prestia. It confirmed itself as one of the most anticipated openings of the Sciacca summer, a showcase of the vitality of the local sports and social association scene.
