A day of craftsmanship, gastronomy, and entertainment in the village of Pomarance
The Art and Flavors Festival was born in Pomarance, a village in the province of Pisa, located in the Upper Val di Cecina region of Tuscany. Organized by the Pomarance Natural Shopping Center with the patronage of the Municipality and the support of the Tuscany Regional Council and Confesercenti, the event features a widespread format: for an entire day, the streets and squares of the historic center turn into an open-air experiential path where crafts, food and wine, workshops, and shows follow one another from morning to evening.
The heart of the festival is the artisan and gastronomic market, which opens around 10:30 AM. Along the village streets, you will find artisans at work, potters, and weavers, as well as stalls offering local products and free guided tastings of cured meats, cheeses, olive oil, and regional wine. The goal is to promote artistic crafts and local food excellence, giving residents and visitors the chance to discover the products of the Upper Val di Cecina.
Throughout the day, there are numerous experiential workshops open to both adults and children: from working with herbs and lavender sachets to pottery, painting, watercolors, and even kokedama. There is also space for cooking with demonstrations dedicated to homemade pasta: pici, a symbol of Tuscan tradition, are prepared step-by-step, with sessions specifically designed for children.
On the gastronomic front, there is no shortage of local street food—from lampredotto to cecina, and pici all'aglione—accompanied by local wines. The most anticipated moment is the proposal signed by Michelin-starred chef Enrico Bartolini, who at noon, at the Giardinetti in Via Garibaldi, offers his interpretation of the traditional Etruscan soup, paired with a glass of wine. Gastronomic experiences require reservations.
The afternoon continues with a free theatrical performance at the Casa Bicocchi Museum and reading sessions in the village squares. The day ends with music: at 9:15 PM, at the Teatro dei Coraggiosi, the free concert by Ginevra Di Marco takes the stage, performing in a trio with Francesco Magnelli and Andrea Salvadori, with the show "Canti richiami d'amor," blending singer-songwriter music with popular tradition.
The Art and Flavors Festival is an opportunity to discover Pomarance and its historic center in a lively and welcoming atmosphere, amidst art, flavors, and culture. An event that combines the charm of a Tuscan village with the quality of gastronomic and artistic offerings, designed for families, craft enthusiasts, and food lovers.
The first edition opened at 10:30 AM with the artisan and gastronomic market along the streets of the center.
