The celebration of Sicilian street food in Rosolini
Every summer in August, the town of Rosolini, in the province of Syracuse, hosts one of the most popular food and wine events in South-East Sicily: the Arancino Festival. For six consecutive nights, the Iblean town transforms into a grand village of taste, where the arancino, the ultimate symbol of Sicilian street food, takes center stage. The event is organized by the Eventi Sicilia association in collaboration with the Municipality of Rosolini.
Crispy on the outside and rich on the inside, the arancino is offered at the stalls in all its forms: from the classic meat sauce version to the butter-based one, and even more creative variations featuring local products. Alongside the arancini, visitors can sample numerous other Sicilian culinary specialties and traditional street food, embarking on a journey of flavors that tells the story of the Iblean territory's gastronomic identity.
The Arancino Festival is about more than just food. Every evening, starting at 6:00 PM with free admission, the public enjoys cabaret shows, dance school performances, and concerts by nationally and regionally renowned artists and bands. The program alternates well-known names in Italian music with comedians and traditional Sicilian acts, ensuring entertainment for all ages and a great sense of community.
Included in the rich calendar of summer festivals in Sicily, the event has become a landmark over the years for both residents and tourists vacationing in the Val di Noto. The mid-August setting, between Ferragosto and the end of summer, helps attract thousands of people, making the Arancino Festival of Rosolini one of the most anticipated events in the province of Syracuse.
The twelfth edition of the Arancino Festival in Rosolini will take place from August 11 to 16, 2026. The event confirms its proven formula: six festive evenings with tastings of arancini and Sicilian culinary specialties, exhibition stalls, and a rich calendar of musical and cabaret performances. The evenings kick off at 6:00 PM with free admission.
The complete artistic program for the 2026 edition, including the names of singers and guests, will be announced by the Eventi Sicilia association closer to the event. We recommend checking the official channels for updates.
The festival takes place every year in mid-August, for six consecutive nights starting at 6:00 PM.
